Conferences were never interesting. They consisted of sitting at a large table, discussing business that nobody actually cares about, starting arguments with others who were nowhere near as bothered as you.
Yet, Peter sat there, his eyes glued to the hologram of the Secretary of Defence as he listed off the many incidents caused by Alice Steel.
"Destruction of public property, threatening government workers, bodily harm to citizens-"
"That guy deserved it!"
"Please, Mr Parker, that's not appropriate. This is no place for opinions of children."
"A child who can kick your ass!"
"Enough, kid." Tony calmed, placing his hand on Peter's shoulder. "You're right, that sleazebag had it coming and that's been taken care of. Let's try and be civil, here."
Peter apologised quickly and went back to listening.
"She has very limited control over her emotions and her actions, she's inconsolable and unpredictable. We want to send her to the raft prison." He clasped his hands and put them on the table, looking around expectantly at the Avengers.
"And what makes you think she's going to enjoy being kept prisoner, huh?" Natasha interrupted. "HYDRA kept her captive for seven years, she's not going to be willing to go back to that life."
"Then we find a way to get her there. This is a matter of public safety." He said pointedly.
"This is a matter of your head being too far up your ass to see that she's a teenager who's struggling!" Peter yelled, slamming his fist on the table. "You're So quick to judge her actions but you're no better! You're irrational, conceited, inconsiderate and down right cruel to even consider putting that poor girl through any more pain!"
"Look, Spider-Man. We've been doing this a lot longer than you have and we don't see any improvement over the last month." He straightened his tie and lifted his head, doing his best to assert dominance over the young adult.
"I do."
It wasn't Peter who spoke or Tony or even Nat. It was Bucky. Everyone turned to look at the man, shocked to hear him actively engaging in the discussion- something he never did.
"You might not see an improvement, but I do." Bucky stood from his chair and looked straight at the holographic image at the head of the table.
