Pepper was a kind soul. She lent her comfiest clothes to Alice instead of the baggy clothes that did nothing to warm her. The sweatpants and hoodie covered her body and she relished in the warmth as well as the comfy sneakers adorning her feet. She then insisted on the other Avengers being out of the communal areas as the young teenager became used to her surroundings and new home.

"We didn't know what you'd like so your room is pretty basic but just come to me whenever you're ready and we'll do everything to make you comfortable." She smiled as she lead Alice to her new living quarters.

"We?" She asked, stopping as Pepper did in front of a door. She pushed it open to reveal and grey and white themed bedroom of a decent size; a king sized bed against one wall with a bedside table and a lamp beside it. On the other side was a dresser than balanced a TV on top and a vanity. There was a set of double doors that lead out onto a balcony that had a view of the whole grounds. It was as Pepper said, basic. Bare. Void of any personality. To Alice, it was a reminder that she has had such a busy life she had t had the time to take a moment and figure out who she was.

Who was she? Besides an ex-HYDRA pin cushion? A super soldier trained to kill? A daughter - certainly not. A hero? A killer?

"Me and Tony. He's not good at showing his emotions but he's really happy you're staying here." She smiled once again, hoping not to startle the girl - she had just come back from the dead, after all.

"Not like I got another place to be." She shrugged her shoulders, walking into her new room and tracing some of the furniture lightly with her fingertips. "A back alley dumpster doesn't exactly offer the safest night sleep."

A silence over took the room as neither woman knew what to say or how to keep the conversation going.

Pepper dismissed herself and left quickly, using the excuse that Alice needed to settle back into life by herself when in reality all she wanted was company from people.

One person in particular.

Before she died, Alice had bonded with Peter Parker. He was the only person who could understand the pressure on her of being a teenager superhero with powers they didn't ask for. She opened up to him on the flying donut, telling him her life story - not looking for pity; but a friend.

The last thing she remembered was seeing Peter sobbing and begging her to stay. She remembered the feeling of his shaky hands cradling her head as her life drained away. She remembers the pain of saying goodbye to her friend being more painful than the open wounds that covered her body.

She decided that she needed to get out of the building - suit or no suit. Alice opened the doors and stepped onto the balcony.

"Everything okay, Blue?"
