Lie Detector (Connor Murphy x Reader)

You and your boyfriend, Connor, had been dating for about two years. You were sitting in bed watching The Office when your phone started to ring. It was Connor.

"Hello?" You answered.

"Aloha, girlfriend Y/N."

You giggle. Connor was the only person who ever made you giggle. "What is it?"

"Well, I was thinking," he paused. "we've been dating for a while and I was wondering if..."

"Are you proposing?" You asked, shocked.

"Oh of course not, darling." He laughed evilly. "I'm asking you to come take a lie detector test with me!"

"What?" Being very confused, you started to think...does he think I'm cheating on him?

"Y'know, like all of those hip YouTubers are doing." Connor didn't wait for you to agree to go with him, instead he said, "Great! I'll be at your house in five minutes. I love you, Y/N."

"I love you too, Connor." You ended the call very confused. Then sighed and changed into a red crop top and black leggings. You pulled your hair up into a high pony tail and flopped back onto the bed and continued watching The Office.

Just as Pam was giving birth, you heard a knock at the door. Jumping up, you turned the TV off, grabbed your phone, slipped on some shoes and went to meet Connor outside.

You were greeted with a hug and kiss on the forehead then you both climbed into his car and drove away.

"I hope you've been thinking of questions to ask me, Y/N." He smiled at you. "Because I've been thinking of questions to ask you."

"I haven't actually." You scrolled through Instagram while talking to him.

Connor frowned and plucked your phone from your hand. "Connor!" You half yelled reaching for the phone back.

"No! You have to think of questions to ask me!" He laughed and you couldn't help but smile at him, he seemed so perfect in your eyes.

"Fine."

When you arrived at the brick building, Connor insisted you go in first while he hid some of his stuff in the car so that no one would try to steal it.

"Okay?" You said awkwardly, he had never done this before...

When you walked in you just kind of stood there waiting on Connor to come in. About the time he came into the building, a man walked into the room from another room.

"Murphy I presume?" He asked.

"Yep." Connor said, sounding nervous.

He chuckled, "Right this way."

The man, who's name was John, led you and Connor to a room and hooked Connor up to a bunch of wires. Connor sat down in a chair and you began asking him questions, starting off easy.

"Are you happy with me?"

"Of course, Y/N." He responded.

"He's telling the truth." Said John.

A few questions later, you asked him the final two questions you have been dreading.

"Do you actually love me?" Your heart was pounding, scared of whether he would tell the truth or not.

"Yes."

"He's telling the truth."

You felt instant relief. Then there was another dreadful question...

"Have you ever cheated on me?"

"No!"

"He's telling the truth."

You smiled, "Okay. I'm done."

Connor nervously smiled at you as John hooked you up to the machine. Connor, unlike you, started off with intense questions.

"Have you ever cheated on me?" He asked.

"Never."

"She's not lying."

Connor smiled and continued, "Would you ever cheat on me, like in the future?"

"Nope." You answered confidently. No one could ever compare to Connor, you have no reason to ever cheat on him.

"She is telling the truth."

"You love me, right?" Connor asked looking at you.

"Of course."

"She's telling the truth."

Connor shook nervously, what's wrong with him? "Okay I have one more question for you."

"Alright." You said.

"Y/N, will you marry me?" He bent down on one knee and pulled the most beautiful ring ever out of his pocket.

You began to cry, "Yes, Connor Murphy. I will marry you."

"She's telling the truth." Said John.

And with that, Connor kissed you and slid the ring on your finger. Maybe this whole lie detector thing wasn't such a bad idea...

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I ACTUALLY WROTE A FRIKIN CHAPTER! BE PROUD OF ME PLEASE (even though the chapter kind of sucked, sorry)!!!

I will TRY to start writing more but I really can't make any promises, I'm kind of busy a lot. But that's literally all I have to say right now so byeeeeee I guess!
