Ever since she saw Jeremy in the town's square earlier that day, Mallory couldn't stop thinking about him. Finally, she decided to go pay him a visit. Mallory knocked on the front door of the Gilbert residence and soon enough, Jeremy opened it.
Jeremy's eyes widened when he saw Mallory at the front door, clearly shocked, "Mallory."
"Suprised to see me?" Mallory asked him curiously, a smile on her face, "Trust me, I would be, too."
"I, uh, I just thought you were leaving town with your sister and mother," Jeremy replied and Mallory froze for a brief moment, forgetting about how she called Pearl her mother and Anna her sister to go along with the lie she made up.
"We had a change of plans, I guess," Mallory informed him, only to notice the stumped look on Jeremy's face, "Oh, I'm sorry. I expected you to be happy about this news. Guess not."
"No!" Jeremy exclaimed, "No, no, I mean, I am. I definitely am. I'm just shocked that's all."
Mallory smiled at Jeremy, even though she could sense that something was up with him, "Alrighty then. Step aside, Gilbert."
Jeremy smiled at Mallory as he opened the door wider, allowing her to enter the house.
Soon after, Jeremy ended up setting up the xbox for him and Mallory to play video games. With two controllers in his hands, Jeremy walked back over to the couch and sat to sit next to Mallory, "What made you, your mom, and your sister decide to stay in town?" Jeremy asked curiously.
"They're my adoptive family, but my mother, she got this business opportunity; she's going to open up a little store," Mallory explained with a smile on her face, "It's been her dream for what feels like centuries. So yeah we're staying. And I'm thinking about going back to high school again, so you'll be seeing a little more of me. You never know, we might even have classes together."
"Yeah?" Jeremy questioned with a smile on his face.
"I feel like I'm missing out on the high school experience by missing all this school. So I think it'd be great to finally go back. But I'd have to ask my mom first. I know for a fact that she'll have an opinion." Mallory explained to him.
"Well, I wish you were there now. I actually have to write another paper," Jeremy replied and Mallory raised a brow at him, "I was thinking about squeezing one more out on 'The vampires in Mystic Falls'."
Mallory gave Jeremy an odd look as she tensed up a bit, which Jeremy clearly noticed, "Really? Haven't you exhausted that subject by now?" She asked him concerned.
"No, I want to go deeper, you know. I want to understand why people were labeled as vampires back in the day. I mean, maybe there's such a thing as vampires, they're just different from the way we always thought they were." He explained to her.
"What do you mean?" Mallory frowned in confusion.
"Well, maybe they're normal and good, just outsiders you know? Um, misunderstood."
