The Liones guards, with help from Lahar and Mest put a remorseful sight of a demon into the back of a prison like vehicle. It took the entire group a few minutes to finally register that they could leave. Though once they did no words were uttered. They were only now able to process the series of events that had just occurred.
As they got closer to the port Natsu finally spoke up. He said " Dad, what happened? We all watched you... Die."
His voice cracking as the words left his mouth. Igneel was a little taken aback at the sudden break in the defining silence. Though regardless he replied with " Natsu, I am so sorry for not telling you that I was alive. I didn't know that I was being returned to the dragon realm. I have been watching over you though. I came back to help you with Mao. He was an enemy of the dragon realm at one point. I was really young when it was happening, but despite that I was the one that scared him off." The remainder of that ride was spent explaining what had happened between the time that Igneel had been in the dragon realm. When the group got to the port they saw the boat and were relieved to be able to return to the guild. Once they met up with Estarossa and explained everything to him they headed toward the boat. Thus, the original group of Natsu, Lucy, Meliodas, Merlin, Ban, King, Diane, Erza, Gray, Mirajane, Happy, Laxus, Elizabeth, Zeref, and Mavis boarded the boat along with Zeldris, Estarossa, Igneel, Metalicona, and Grandieen.
After boarding the boat Lucy finally broke down. Natsu had already seen her deteriorating resolve. His presence was immediately felt by Lucy as he held her. His arms firmly wrapped around her frame. That gradually grew in its shaking.
As the boat they stood upon increased their distance from Liones her shaking sobs wracked her body more. All Natsu did was hold her. He knew of her strength. She had held out till the end of her father's wrath. She plastered a smile on. She reassured those around her. Her emotions were kept hidden from anyone's senses. He knew that with how much she had to endure she did not let fall any of her tears. So he knew that she had to release all of the streams she had subdued.
Every drop that trailed down her face broke his heart. She was the most important person in his life. She was his best friend. She was kind, generous, beautiful. She didn't deserve to have to go through so much. He loved her and having her be so heartbroken broken because of her father hurt him in ways he could never be able to express. He was unable to help in any other way than holding her as her heart released all it's pain that it held. That one thing was what hurt him the most.
As the boat grew closer to Hargeon port the night descended upon them. Lucy had fallen asleep after she broke down. It was still etched in Natsu's mind. Every time he looked back on that moment it brought him pain. He was upset he hadn't done more to comfort Lucy. He knew he couldn't do more than he did, but still couldn't get over the fact that he could have done more.
Zeldris was explaining more to Estarossa about Mao. It never occurred to Estarossa that Mao wasn't his and Zeldris' father. So, being told this seemed a bit far fetched. He was confused, but it began to make more sense as he processed the new information. They looked nothing like Mao. It made perfect sense that they weren't his children. They were his nephews. How could Mao take them from their mother and father.
It was hard not to worry about how their parents were doing. We're they happy? Were they still waiting for them? If fact did they even remember them or care about them? So many different and unanswered questions about their mother and father swirled inside their heads. It was driving Esstarossa insane. These thoughts filling his mind to its brim. Unlike Zeldirs he had no memory of their parents. he had no clue of their nature. No clue about what their parents looked like. He had so many thoughts. They were of two things, his and Zeldris' parents and of Mao. What made Mao do what he did and lie to them about their parents. what did he think he'd gain in doing so? Did he actually gain anything? Did they unintentionally harm someone by falling for the abomination of a demon that happened to be Mao? These questions made Esstarossa worry to no end.
