After awhile, my breakfast had worn off and I was hungry again. The hobbits seemed to be hungry as well. Especially Pippin.
"Gentleman, and lady," Strider stopped to look at the hobbit and I.
I stood besides Strider. He continued, "We do not stop until nightfall."
"What about breakfast?" Pippin asked.
Strider looks at Pippin, and raised an eyebrow, "You've already had it!"
Pippin nodded, "We've had one yes, but what about second breakfast?"
I had to stifle a laugh. Second breakfast! Strider's face said it all; confused with the hobbits' way of life. After all that food he ate for breakfast, he was still hungry?
Strider shook his head and frowned and started to walk away. He tossed an apple to Merry and Pippin, and handed one to me. I laughed. Second breakfast!
We kept walking, and spent the night in a marshland. While I was trying to sleep, I heard Strider singing. Though I could not hear the words, it lulled me back to sleep.
In the morning, we woke up, and ate breakfast and started to walk over hills.
After a long day of walking, I saw a rocky ruins. Maybe a castle? I stared up in awe at it.
Strider admired the old structure, "This was the great watch tower of Amon Sul. We shall rest here tonight."
We reached the tower, and we set our things down. I looked at the setting sun, and glanced at Strider. He was looking at me, and quickly looked away. I blushed.
Strider took a bundle of fabric off of Bill, and walked back to us. He unwrapped the bundle, and passed out swords. He handed me a slender sword, and smiled. I took it from him and admired it. I had never had a sword before. I wish I still had my bow.
"These are for you. Keep them close. I'm going to have a look around. Stay here," Strider said. I looked up at him, "I want to come."
He looked at me, "No. Stay with the hobbits."I looked at the small figures and nodded. Strider walked around the corner and disappeared. I yawned.
"I'm going to try and get some sleep. Don't do anything dangerous," I joked.
They nodded, and Frodo said, "I'll try and get some sleep as well."
I feel asleep pretty fast, but after a little while, I smelled bacon and something else. I sat up, and so did Frodo. "Guys! I said don't do anything dangerous!"
"We didn't, Lady Alex. We saved you and Frodo some tomatoes, sausages, and nice crispy bacon," Merry said and smiled.
"Put it out you fools! Put it out!" Frodo said, frantically while stepping onto the fire to put it out.
I heard the screech of the Nazgul. I froze. "God dang it," I whispered.
"Go!" Frodo said. We gathered our swords, and scrambled up to the top of the tower.
All of our breaths were ragged, and we were scared. I didn't know how to wield a sword as well as one of the Nazgul. I wish I had my bow. Again.
I heard another screech. I gathered the hobbits into a small group in the middle of the courtyard. A wraith slowly approached us. 5 more appeared, all with huge swords unsheathed held out in front of them. They were really close to Sam, and he yelled, "Back you devils!"
Sam tried to slash a wraith with his sword, but the wraith shoved him aside.
"Sam! Are you alright!?" I yelled, holding my sword in front of me.
