Stellan
Stellan was confused. Was ruby talking to him? About his eyes? Sure family has told him how nice his- and his brothers eyes are. Especially his mom, always saying she was "enchanted" by the mixture of brown and light green that almost seems blue, saying his eyes were like sirens calling out others that were lost (she was obsessed with a story called Sirens Lament).
Ruby simply smiles at him as if she was carefree, "Yeah yours, they're really nice."
Brain freezing, on complete shutdown. Not used to receiving compliments other than from David or Royce, and that was usually when they were messing around with him.
"Uh-thanks"Ruby simply looks at him. He felt very uncomfortable as if she could read every thought in his brain, so he tried to keep his face was calm as possible. Then suddenly Ellie says something about using the restroom and takes Ruby with her. Ruby smiles goodbye to Stellan and David, her dress making her eyes seem more green than usual, what color were hers? 'Dammit Stellan instead of being a robot you should have asked her eye color! UGH why did I think of this AFTER?'
"Seems like someone is a bit interested in your face." David snickers
"Huh?" Stellan was completely baffled about that comment, was he talking about Ruby? She just asked a question, she was an open person, nothing more. But before he could ask more the bell rang and they went to class, and the whole day passed in a flash.

Staring out the window, Stellan is aware of how quickly the scenery changes, from urban homes filled families, to skyscrapers what makes the city- a city. Filled with people, all having their own lives, problems, and fears walking about having no clue that there's two scared boys in a car on their way to meet their father, with sweaty hands and hearts pounding. But what makes it better? No one is alone. Not that 30 year old man walking his daughter into his car With a lunch box. Not that young woman on the phone laughing as if there were no problems. We are constantly surrounded by people, feeling their energy and hoping that positivity can invade us too. Looking to his left at Royce who's white knuckles are clenching the steering wheel, Stellan squeezes his brothers shoulder and gives him a soft smile.
Parking his car they both let out a breath neither realized they were holding in.
Royce turns to Stellar. "You ready brother?"
Stellar replies with a nod.
Walking into the building 'Searing Heat' a company that works with fires, making stoves, lighters, anything related to heat, Mr. Searing the CEO has you covered.
Going to the 22th floor, to have the monthly meeting with their father, Stellans hands began to shake uncontrollably, holding them down together they began to vibrate. Royce pats his brothers back, going into his backpack giving his brother the rest of his water, helping him simmer down.
Finally walking into their father's office, large walls between 20-25 ft high, all covered in red: carpets, flowers, walls, vases, cups, tables. Everything. The receptionist, Snow greeted them with a smile, she was the only thing in this office with a color other than red- grey from her hair- she was a sweet old lady who always gave Royce and Stellan mints, knowing that would simmer down their nerves. The minty taste calmed them down, smiling and saying thank you to Snow they greet their father.
"Didn't I say we were the best? Why are you ruining my name John, you WILL NOT lose anymore costumers and losing money. You're fired!" Slamming his phone down onto the table he looks at his two sons standing in front of their desks, about 8 feet away, staring down. Clearing his throat, straighting his tie, he gives his sons his million dollar smile that gets all the investments.
"Hey boys. How was your day?"
Both reply "good."
"Well then. I need you two to do me a favor."
Both nod.
Walking to the front of his desk, standing straight, even at 45 years old Mr. Searing was intimidating at the height of 6"3 taller than both his sons staring down at them. His eyes burning holes into their heads.
"I'm having a company banquet, this is very important especially for you Royce, as the oldest I need you to make this appearance to show people you're interested, because you WILL be taking over this company wether you like it or not. Stellan you're coming too" Stellans eyes immediately comes up to meet his fathers, staring into those blues eyes that were so dark it seemed to go forever. "Stellan I know no one wants to be embarrassed by your speaking but I need people to think you two are competing for the spot even if you aren't. We must cause drama, that leads to attention, more money for the sake of the company."
Stellan stood in shock, his father never made him go to public appearances too often unless it didn't involve him speaking to anyone, never letting him deteriorate the name of the company.
"Dad you can't do this to Stellan, he's your son. Who cares about publicity anyways, I'm sure there's another way. I could date some hot model or something."
Mr. Searing rolled his eyes at his son. "Royce, this is one of the best ways according to my publicity people, who I pay to give my the best way to gain attention, and this is it."
"D-Dad I c-c-an't do it." Stellan begged.
Walking closer to Stellan staring directly down onto him, "listen boy, you will do this. This is what you're mother would have wanted for the company as well."
Heart stopping. 'Mom?' From all his memories his mom only mentioned the company once. To say "Stellan this company is important to your father. Remember to be patient with him, okay? Don't let his burning passion for his job blister your dreams."
"Dad. Don't do this to him." Royce begged their dad.
"I am ordering the both of you!" He yells "I didn't ask did I? This is final, if you choose not to then they will be consequences. Do not mess with me on this. Be ready in two months, you can bring a plus one if you want."
Both nod their head. Walk out the room.
"That went well." Royce says sarcastically.
Stellan responds with a nod.
"Hey brother, don't worry about too much okay? Just go hang out with David and chill. Don't do anything I wouldn't do *winks*" rubbing his head, Royce walks to his car and waves goodbye to Stellan.
Walking down the parking lot looking for David's car, he heard laughing- from girls. Walking more and more he finally saw David's light blue car, realizing the laughing was coming from in there. Reaching up to it he knock on the window.
Rolling down the window David yells at Stellan. "Hey! Uhm I brought some company, thought it would be fun if we all hung out today."
Turning to see who's in the back, it was Ruby, wearing a new outfit- light blue skinny jeans with a white tank that was flowerlike and showed her collarbone and smooth skin. She was laughing with Ellie, literal tears coming out of their eyes, Stellan couldn't help but smirk. And it was at the moment when the world stopped because Ruby now noticed that Stellan was there staring right at her, making eye contact her eyes twinkled, slight blush on her cheeks, and she smiled widely at him as if he was a fresh drink of water on a dry day. He was more confused than before.
