Chapter 26

Duke's P.O.V

Over the last four months not much has happened, my pack have their complete trust in me again and I think having Wesley and Angelica here showed them that I could be mature about the situation. They didn't believe I had it in me to run my pack anymore because of how easily I had rejected Angelica and sent her away. The stories that had spread were unbelievable but I assured them that it was necessary and that there was no other way. I told them about the mating between two pure blood Alpha's and how potentially fatal it could be, alot of the elder pack members had remembered the stories and they were quick to understand why I did it. 

It's been hard don't get me wrong, I think about Angelica every day and she isn't too far from my mind when I'm concentrated on my alpha duties, but I knew that I had to do it. I couldn't keep lying to her about it and I knew if i did tell her she still would have wanted to stay by my side regardless of  what the consequences were. 

Her having Wesley as a mate was a good thing, he was a good guy and lost his mate about 2 years ago I think it was. So speaking from experience I know he will treat Angelica how she should be treated. All I had to do now was keep my chin up and get on with my life. I would never accept another mate because Angelica was and will always be "my one". No one could ever replace her and to be completely honest I couldn't even fathom having another mate after I treated Angelica as bad as what I did.

I knew there was something still there for her but I also knew that I had to keep it to myself. I wanted the alliance with Uncle Harris to work and that won't happen if i'm still hung up on Angelica because she is with Wesley now. What was getting to me though is why there was still some sort of bond between us when I felt it break the minute her and Wesley completed their mating process. I was curious as to whether she felt it too or if it was just me but let me tell you it really did confuse me.

Angelica's P.O.V

I looked up into Wesley's eyes after I pulled out of the hug and he has that small smile on his lips, I could stare at him for hours he just made me want to melt. He grabbed my hand pulled me into the room and shut the door. Next thing I knew his mouth was on mine capturing my lips in one of the most passionate, lust filled kiss we have ever shared. I knew in that moment that Wesley was my life and I could never imagine having any body else. Before I realised I had even moved, the backs of my knees had hit the side of the bed. Wesley laid me down and positioned himself above me maintaining this searing kiss that had me feeling the heat at my core. We made love for the first time since I had told him and I can tell you it was the best love making session we have ever had. 

I woke up with flashes of the steamy love making, it made me smile to know that I was exactly where I was supposed to be.... In Wesley's arms. I looked over at my mate and watched him sleep. He didn't look troubled anymore, how adorable he looked when he slept like he didn't have a worry in the world. I smiled as I traced my fingertips over the planes of his face. It wasn't long before I squealed as he had grabbed my hand and spun us so he was laying over the top of me.

" Shit Wes.. you scared me" I whined

" Sorry Angel.... But in my defence I have warned you about staring at me while i'm asleep" he chuckled.

I stuck my tongue out at him and tried pushing him off, boy was he heavy... Let's just say he wasn't budging. He laughed at my attempts before placing a kiss on my lips before lifting himself up, grabbing me until we were both standing and carried me bridal style into the shower, where we once again made love to each other. With the way we were right now, I can honestly say that we have already overcome one of the hardest things there is to overcome as a couple and I can honestly say that I think we are stronger than ever. Anything life has to throw at us we will overcome together.
