CH. 29 He's going to regret this

(Aimee POV)

I had all the things I needed to have with me, as I was in the back of the police car.

Unlike everyone else, handcuffs weren't placed on me.

The truth was, I wouldn't even mind if I was handcuffed, especially if I was handcuffed to Anthony.

My heart clenched at how broken Anthony looked when he was getting arrested.

"Fuck," I said, groaning.

"Are you okay, Ma'am?" The officer asked.

"No, considering my family was just arrested, and so was my fiance over a stupid misunderstanding," I said, narrowing my eyes at the officer.

"Ma'am, we had proof you were abducted, and your boyfriend came into the station a mess, wondering why we dropped the case on finding you. From what you just said, it seems like that was all a lie and false story; care to fill me in." The officer said.

I let out a sigh.

"Sir, he is not my boyfriend. He is a lawyer who I had dated in the past; he also was a mole and had another person as a mole in my firm. I was on to him and had proof that he had been stealing from me. While we were together, he was cheating. He's a liar, a fake human being, and a disgrace. He is not my boyfriend, the man I was with is my fiance, and this supposed boyfriend at the station has had you guys take me away from the best holiday I've ever had." I said.

The officer stayed silent.

"You see, I did see something wasn't right at all. For example, he wasn't the one who first reported you missing, and it was your assistant Lizzie. If he was someone who really cared for you, he would have reported you missing also or been the first one to. Your assistant told us that he was lying and using us. She told us you were fine and would be angry about this. I'm sorry that this is all happening, but I heard you're a damn good lawyer, so you'll be fine and If you need another lawyer on your side. My sister-in-law Anastasia is good." The officer said, causing my eyes to widen.

He was different from the other officers, and this guy was listening to my side. He was listening to me and understanding my feelings. He didn't ignore my protest like the other officers did.

"Do you mean Anastasia Knight?" I asked him.

He nodded his head.

"Yes, that's her." He said. I nodded my head, She's a good lawyer, and I would love to work with her. I've seen her throw down in the courtroom.

"You're her brother-in-law?" I asked curiously.

The officer nodded his head.

"Yes." He said.

I let out a sigh.

"Thank you for believing me," I said. He chuckled.

"I sense when people are lying, and that man was lying all the way. I'm sorry that this has happened, but he's also a well-known lawyer, but you're higher than him, extremely well known than him also, so you'll be able to deny his story and take him down as much as you need to." The officer said.

"I hope so. What's your name?" I asked him.

"Chris Princeton." He said.

That name sounded familiar.

"Were you on that case, that case with the girls who were held, hostage? Kassie Miller, Melanie Caravalli, Tiara Wilson, and the other victims?" I asked, and he nodded his head.
