Two
Stella woke. It was dark, and the stars were out. She didn't know why, but she had always felt closer to the stars than her own herd. As she gazed up at them, she looked into the depths of the sky. The stars were so peaceful, yet so powerful.
She rested there, her head against Dillo, watching the stars, until she fell to sleep.
"Stella! Stella, wake up!" She heard the frightened voice of Dillo as she bolted upright. As Stella groggily gained conciousness, she heard a chopping sound, and looked up to see a large, dark object blotting out the sun. The sound seemed to be coming from it, because it had a spinning thing on top of it, with what looked like blades of dark material attached to it. What ever it was, it must have been keeping the huge object in the air.
The whole herd was screaming in panic, but Stella was trying to get a good look at this thing. It seemed to have a pink, ugly creature in it's belly. It looked hairless, except for the tuft of fur on it's head. It looked so pitiful, like a newborn foal just opening it's eyes to see the completely new world. Well, new to it, of course.
It seemed to be trying to herd the horses, but as they moved forward, some of them broke off from the rest. At first, Stella thought they would escape, but the flying object just came dangerously close to the ground, and scared the horses into line. The horses tried this various times, but it did not work.
