One Look

First Day of School

As Toni and Cheryl walked into school, the first thing they did was get their schedules. Then they went to meet up with Sweet Pea and Veronica. They were in the student lounge, with Betty and Jughead.

"Hey guys!" Betty said, standing up to go talk to them.

After they all said hello and sat down, they took out their schedules and examined them. Cheryl and Toni had only one class together, 2nd period English. Everyone there had one class together, 4th period History. Cheryl and Toni were disappointed to only have one class together, but soon enough the bell rang for first period. They all said goodbye, and all Cheryl was thinking about was how long to 2nd period.

Soon enough, the bell rang, and it was time to go to English. Toni and Cheryl met in the hallway, and walked to class together. As soon as they got into the classroom, they picked two desks that were right next to each other. Reggie Mantle, one of Riverdale High's best football players, and Archie's best friend, sat in front of them. And Moose Mason, Reggie's other friend sat next to him.

Toni and Cheryl talked whenever they could during class, and it seemed to go by so much quicker than first period. Unfortunately, as if only minutes had passed, the bell rang for next period. The rest of the day went by relatively quick for both of them, they each had a few friends in their classes so they weren't totally alone.

After school, Cheryl was talking to Toni about joining the River Vixens, the cheerleading team which Cheryl was the captain of.

"Cmon TT, you totally have to join! It's really fun, and plus you get to make new friends, and hang out with me."

Toni laughed. "Wow I guess it's an offer I can't refuse then. Fine I'll join"

"Yay!!"

Cheryl said, as her and Toni went back to her trailer to do homework.

As soon as they got there, Toni started to explain her living situation to Cheryl.

"So basically my grandfather and I live here together, but he's not really around that often, so I'm used to living alone."

"Me too."

Cheryl said, sounding upset, which she was never.

"Ever since my brother and father died, I've had to live in that house with that awful woman that I have to call my mother. JJ was the only person that I could talk to, that I could open up to. But he's gone. My father took away his life before it could even really begin."

Cheryl started to tear up.

"JJ was the only person that-"
"That what Cheryl?" Toni said, trying to comfort her.

"He was the only person that accepted me for who I am. Toni, I like girls. I've been too ashamed to admit it, but I do. And since I met you, you've-"

Before Cheryl could say anything else, Toni pulled her into a deep kiss. It went on for awhile, before Toni pulled away and said

"I really, really like you too Blossom."

After their amazing first kiss, they both went to Toni's room. It was small, but open. It was painted a light purple, and the only things in there was her bed, her desk that was messy with pages from her sketchbook, and her dresser.

"You're room is gorgeous TT, I wish mine could look like it."

"Thanks Cher."

They both sat on her bed and started to get out their homework. And Cheryl started to tell Toni more about the River Vixens.

"So the tryouts are tomorrow, and Betty, Veronica, and I are going to be recruiting people to join. They start right after school, so you should get there on time. Just a little secret, you're definitely making the team, TT."

"I don't know Cheryl, I don't really know how to cheer."

"Don't worry about it! Half of the girls there can't even tell their right from left."

They shared a laugh. Then, Cheryl felt enough courage to kiss Toni again, in that moment. Toni kissed her back, and then pulled away.

"So Cheryl. I've been thinking about things these past few, uh, minutes I guess."

Cheryl laughed.

"And um, I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me, like on a date?"

"Really?" Cheryl sounded surprised, but at the same time over the moon.

"Of course TT! How about tomorrow after tryouts, meet me at Pop's?"

"You got it Blossom."

Cheryl kissed her again, already counting down until her date with Toni Topaz.

The next day went by incredibly slow for Cheryl, as she was awaiting her date with the beautiful pink-haired serpent. Finally, the time came for tryouts. There wasn't as many girls as there has been in the past, but she met up with Betty and Veronica right away. She also saw Josie Mccoy, who has been on the Vixens since sophomore year.

She also saw her former "best friends" Ginger and Tina, who have also been on the team for a few years.

Then, from across the gym, Cheryl saw Toni. She was wearing the yellow and white shirt that everyone else was wearing, and her shorts looked amazing on her. She got caught staring blankly across the room by Veronica.

"Earth to Cheryl! Hello?! You've been acting weird all day. Do you feel ok?"

"Yeah V I feel fine. I'm just kind of nervous for a date I have tonight."

Betty overheard their conversation and immediately jumped in.

"No way, Cheryl Blossom has a date? You have to tell us who!"

"I bet it's Reggie." Veronica said, eager to find out who her date was.

"He's been eying her for years! Maybe she's finally giving him a chance."

Cheryl rolled her eyes.

"Ew hell no. There is no way I would ever go out with him. Guess again."

Cheryl said with a smirk. She looked at Toni from across the room again, winking at her.

"Ok ladies! Welcome to River Vixen tryouts! The rules today are going to be very simple. My co-captains Betty and Veronica are going to be watching you perform a short routine, and then we're going to be teaching you all a few basic tricks. Simple enough? Let's get started."

The first few routines were average, mostly good, then finally it was Toni's turn. She was the last one to go. Cheryl was smiling and staring the entire time. She applauded, and then it was time to teach the girls some skills. That went by pretty quickly, and before she knew it, tryouts were over.

Betty, Veronica, and Cheryl would discuss tomorrow after school. But right now, Cheryl was just focused on Toni. They walked out to Cheryl's car and got in. What they didn't know, was that Betty and Veronica had a plan to spy on Cheryl to find out who her mystery dat was.

"V, are you sure about this? It seems like we're invading her privacy."

"Well if she won't tell us, I'm finding out on my own."

A/N okay so this is only my second chapter, but I have lots more planned. I don't have an updating schedule, but I'm going to try and write a little bit every night. I also have school so I might not write in here that often lol.
