The Promposal

Today was the first day back from winter break, and Cheryl and Toni walked into Riverdale High hand in hand, wearing their Serpent jackets. Everyone was staring at them, wondering why someone from the Northside, especially Cheryl Blossom, would become a Serpent. But there was something that nobody knew.

Their senior prom was in a couple of months, and neither Cheryl or Toni had asked each other yet, but Cheryl had something in mind. Her, Betty, and Veronica had been planning an epic promposal for weeks now. It was going to happen at lunch, and their favorite song, "Dreams" by The Cranberries would start playing over the loudspeaker. Then Veronica and Betty would come out holding a sign saying
"will you go to prom with me? love, cheryl" and hopefully Toni would say yes.

The time came for the big moment, and the three of them met in an empty classroom to get everything ready.

"Oh my God Cheryl, this is going to be the cutest thing I've ever seen! Maybe after we can all go dress shopping together!" Betty said, who seemed to be really excited about this for some reason.

"I'm so ready Betts. Thanks guys for helping me with this. Now, let's do this."

They all walked to lunch together, sitting at their usual table, and Cheryl and Betty followed their plan and went to the bathroom, while Veronica said she needed to get a drink of water. They ran off to The Blue and Gold, where the sign was. Right as they left, Principal Weatherbee made an announcement over the loudspeaker.

"Attention everyone, this is a message for Antoinette Topaz, from Cheryl Blossom."

Suddenly, the song started and everyone was looking at Toni. She was starting to sing along, when Veronica and Betty came out with the glittery sign. After Toni read it, Cheryl walked out behind the sign.

"So TT, is that a yes? Will you go to prom with me?"

"Yes! I love you so much Cheryl."

Everyone started clapping, and Toni stood up and ran to kiss Cheryl. For the rest of the day, all Toni could think about was Cheryl. Luckily, Kevin got the whole thing on video, so she could remember that moment forever.

After school, Cheryl, Toni, Betty, and Veronica met up at the Whyte Wyrm. Ally was waiting for Veronica at the bar, and they started making out when they went in.

They were all talking about prom, and when they were going to shop for their dresses. Betty and Jughead were going together, and so were Ally and Veronica. Sweet Pea and Josie were going together too, and Veronica was shocked that they were still going out.

They all settled that they would invite Josie, and they were going to start looking for prom dresses this weekend. They were all so excited, but kind of sad, as it was their last prom together, and they would all be heading off to college soon.

Betty had already applied to a number of amazing schools. Luckily, she was very smart, and would probably get accepted into a number of them.

Cheryl didn't even want to go to college that much. She wanted to be with Toni. She wanted to be with her forever. They hadn't talked about the future, especially their future, but it would probably come up in a conversation eventually. The year was almost halfway over, and neither of them had solid future plans.

Later that day, Cheryl and Toni were sitting in their room, listening to some of Toni's records. She had been collecting records since she was in middle school, and some of her favorites were Queen, The Cranberries, and of course Green Day.

She had a special connection with Queen, because her grandfather had been a fan of them since the early 1970's. He always played their songs, and their favorite song was "I Want To Break Free" and she could watch that music video on repeat.

While they were listening to Queen, Cheryl started talking to Toni.

"TT, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure babe, what is it?"

"Do you ever think about the future, like after high school, and what you're gonna do with your life?"

"Oh yeah, definitely. All the time."

"Really? Well, a-am I in it?"

"Bombshell, you are it."

Cheryl couldn't believe what she just heard. Did Toni just say she wanted to spend her future with her? No! She probably wanted to go to college, live her life, experiment with other people.

"Y-you do?"

"Hell yeah! Cheryl I love you so much, and I really want to spend my future with you."

"This isn't a marriage proposal is it?"

"Uh, no. I just meant that I want to have a steady relationship, and you know, get to that point eventually."

"TT, I love you too. I want to spend my future with you too. Come up here, let's dance."

Cheryl changed the record to The Cranberries, and the song "Sunday". Cheryl took Toni by the waist, and they started dancing to the song.

When a fast part of the song came on, Toni picked Cheryl up, and she wrapped her legs around her. She laid her on the bed, and they started making out on their bed. As the record played on, they got back up again, and started dancing together again.

"I love you so much TT."

"I love you too Cher."

The last song on the side ended, and they just stood in their room, in each other's arms.
