-> merliah (the pov I've been waiting for hah)

I spin my necklace and see the magical power surrounding me. I look to see Grayson starting up the car. Since he wasn't looking at me, I decided to jump over the edge.

The necklace powers turn pink fumes around my legs. My legs became a mermaid tail. My tail was blue as the sky, but powerful.

I was swimming, trying to get going to my home but then I hear Grayson's voice.

"Merliah, Merliah!" I try my best not to look up above the water. If he sees me, he's going to get worried — well if he cares. I no longer hear his voice and started to swim.

Ah, the warm waters brushed up against my skin. I swim further and see bright lights — Oceania.

"Merliah!" A mermaid greets me, "Welcome home."

"Thanks." I swim forward.

I see my mom and my sister going around the ocean.

Oceania is a beautiful town to be in. The lights are bright but not painful to watch because it was just right. This place reminds me of New York City. A little crowded, but beauty everywhere.

"Hey mom, hi T." I greet them. They face towards me and pull me for a hug.

"How was the party?" Talya asks me.

"It was great. By the way really? Swimming practice as your excuse? Who swims at night?" I cross my arms.

She shrugs, "Sorry!"

"Let's go mermaid tail shopping!" Talya pulls my arm. I look at my mom and she said that she'll go to our home.

We go to the Celestial: the Gucci of the ocean. Talya swims quickly to look at the tails.

"I like this one!" She pulls out a crystal mermaid tail.

I get bored from this and go to Talya saying "Talya I'm going to sleep. See ya."

"Whatever."

- Monday

We were just done presenting our presentation for Alexander Hamilton. Grayson sits beside me.

He taps on my shoulder, "Merliah can I ask you a question?"

Every interaction has crossed my entire mind. Maybe he's going to say tha-

"Did you hear the huge splash of water last night?" He interrupts my thoughts.

I got to make up an excuse fast. Do I even say that I heard it?

"Oh I didn't get to hear it. I think my mom picked me up already." I nodded making him do the same.

"Ok. I knew you wouldn't jump in -4 water." He laughs making me laugh but uncomfortably.
