ethan : did he text yet?

I groaned and quickly replied to him, hoping it was Grayson.

me: nope. i thought you were him
me: where is he anyway?

ethan: well he's not answering me and he turned off his location on snapchat. the only place i think he can go to is the park.

me: ok ill go there. thanks e

I stop texting him and closed my phone. I go to my closet and pick a lightweight jacket. I shut it and go to my bike.

The park is not to far from where I live so it'd be easy to bike instead of using the car.

I put a lock on my bike when I made to the entrance of the gate.

I walk up in the stone path looking at the other people with me. I see some people having picnics, kids playing with their kite, and just some couples holding hands while walking. I sighed and walked to the nearest bench. I plopped down and took in the surroundings that were there.

"C'mon Rex! Let's go!"

I turn around to see a golden retriever with a frisbee in its mouth. I follow with my eyes where the dog went and saw the owner.

Grayson.

"Good job bud!"

He looked tired. He removed the frisbee from Rex's mouth and threw it high in the air. Rex raced to get it while Grayson just stood there and watched. Then, he turned around to see me.

crap.

At first he was a bit surprised, but then he relaxed. He rolled his eyes and went back. Then I knew I had to go to him.

"Grayson?"

He doesn't say anything. He just looks at his dog waiting for him to come back.

"I'm sorry." I half-whisper.

He doesn't say anything.

"I know you're mad at me, and if you really don't want to talk to me, I'll go." I walked away only to feel Grayson's arm on my wrist.

He turns around to look at me, "I'm sorry too."

He lets a smile out and I immediately hug him. We both almost fell. Rex comes back with his frisbee.

"Rex is Ethan and I's childhood dog. We got him when we were just 12. So of course he's getting old but I just want to make his last few years good." He plays with the strokes Rex's head and threw the frisbee again.

"I never knew." I shrugged.

He checks his watch, "It's getting late. We should probably leave by now."

I agree and wait for Grayson to tie the leash to Rex.

"Where do you wanna go?" He asks while we're walking, our arms brushing.

"Anywhere is fine."

"Let's eat at Paper Lantern!" He says.
