11 years later

I sigh in frustration as I slam my paperwork down on my desk, my coffee cup rattling as I did. Placing my face in my hands and rubbing my eyes as I thought about how I'm going to pay off the debt I owe. I've used up most of the money my mother left to pay off the Manor but with nothing left to pay off the debts my father owed I had to figure out what I was going to do.

A knock on the door silenced my thoughts as I looked up and spoke softly, "Enter," the door opened as Cloe walked in with a tray that had my newly made meal on it. It was already getting late and I was still unsure of what to do, "Cloe?" She turned to me before reaching the door, "Yes Mistress?" I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose, "Do you know of anything in the Manor with value? I'm going to take a trip to Knockturn alley to sell some trinkets," she thought for a second before speaking, "Well, you could check your parents room, I'm sure they'd have something of use," I nodded as I waved her away. She bowed as she walked out closing the door.
My parents room huh? I shook my head at the now plagued thoughts of my parents that threatened to enter my mind. I shook my head as i walked out the door and down the hall to my parents room that sat untouched since the day I returned, which was years ago. I had refused to step foot in here, that is until now. I took a deep breath as I grabbed the doornob and turned it, opening the door and stepping inside the quiet room. With a wave of my hand the candles lit up revealing dusty shelves, a desk left cramped with papers, and a vanity my mother used to sit at.
I walked up to the vanity and opened my mother's jewelery box to find plenty of necklaces and bracelets, and a couple earings, some I could sell but won't get much for. I turn to leave but a glint of light catches my eye from under the bed, I scrunched my eyes in confusion as I walked over to my father's side of the bed and lowered myself to see under the bed, there sat a silver ring with green gems embedded in it.

I pick it up in my fingers and looked it over

I pick it up in my fingers and looked it over. I could feel an unknown magical power coming from it I wasn't sure where my father would have gotten it but it was definitely worth something. I grasped it in my hands with the other jewelery as I walked out of my parents room shutting the door behind me.
I walked back to my room and put on my over coat allowing my hair to frame my face, as I pulled the sleeves over my arms and pulling the hood up, I but the items I had In my bag as I walked up to the fireplace, grabbing a hand full of flu powder. Taking a deep breath and straightening my coat I announced my destination, "Knockturn Alley," and threw the powder down at my feet, immediatly being engulfed in green flames, and thrown out of the fireplace of Borgin and Burkes trading shop. I landed on foot and the other leg landing on my knee. Wincing at the slight pain of inpact I stood up Dusting the ashes off of my coat and face.
Looking around I noticed people were scarce as there was barely anyone in the shop. I walked around looking at all the little trinkets and knickknacks strewn about. I fished the jewelery out of bag along with the ring but to my dismay had it knocked out of my hand as someone ran into me.
"I'm so sorry," said a young boy who looked vaguely familiar with his light blonde hair and blue eyes, he bent down to pick up the ring but stopped to admire it, "Wow, I've never seen a ring like that," I smiled as he handed it back to me, I held up in my fingers looking at it also, "It is interesting isn't it, it belonged to my father," he smiled as he nodded but his smile was cut short as an all to familiar cane landed on his shoulder, "Draco what have I told you about wondering off," The boy that was revealed as Draco turned his head Abruptly took look at the man behind him, "Sorry father," my eyes trailed upwards to meet the peircing blue eyes that I knew all to well, I gasped as our eyes met, him retuning the baffled expression I held on my face, his eyes never leaving mine he spoke, "Draco please wait outside and Do Not Go Anywhere," Draco nodded as he trotted to the door and stood outside against the window, he stared at me for a second before speaking again, "Crimson?...." My smile grew slightly, "Lucius, I knew it was you, I would recognize those eyes anywhere," he smirked, "I of course could say the same," he stepped back looking at me, "You look the same, only slightly taller," I put my hands on my hips, "And what is that supposed to mean?" He smiles, "It means you still look good," I smiled as I turned to walk up to the counter with my stuff, "Nice save," I heard him chuckle as the shopkeeper walked up to the counter, "Good evening, good evening, what brings you both to my shop this evening, buying, selling? What will it be?" I smiled as I but down the jewelry I had including the ring, he looked it all over and nodded, he picked up the ring and smiled creepily as he observed it, he offered me acouple thousand coins for all of it but the ring he offered more for it by itself, I took both offers and had my bag full when I turned back to Lucius, he smirked as he walked up to the counter and started to talk to the man about his business, I stepped back as I walked to the door and stepped outside and sat next to Draco as we both waited for his father, Draco looked at me and Smirked, "So you know my father?" I nodded "Yes, fortunately your father is an old friend of mine, I was actually surprised to see him," he smiled as his father walked out of the shop and joining us a moment afterwards, Lucius smirked at me, "What brings you to Knockturn Alley? Just to sell things?" I nodded, "I have some debt to pay off....the debt my father left behind for my enjoyment, I see you've done well for yourself Lucius, your son looks just like you, where is his mother if I may ask," his eyes traveled downwards then met mine, "She passed, a couple years ago," I nodded sharply, "Im sorry Lucius, I didnt mean to pry, I'm sorry to here of your loss," he nods as Draco smiled, "It's alright, it was years ago, we don't hold on to the past, actually Draco is starting his second year at Hogwarts. I nodded, "ah yes, school is important Draco, be lucky you are receiving such education," Draco nodded but didn't look like he agreed, which I can understand, he is a child after all, he looked about 12. We walked out of Knockturn Alley and I smiled as I turned to Lucius, "Well, I better be off, it was so wonderful to see again Lucius, you have to pay me a visit at my home sometime," he smirked, "The same one from before?" Draco looked confused from the statement but remained silent, I nodded, "That's right, since I'm the Mistress of the house now, you and your son are welcome whenever you'd like, it'd be nice to catch up," he nodded and smiled, "That it would be, alright, I'll see you later," we both bowed slightly to each other as we turned and walked our separate ways. I returned home Shortly after and was greeted by Cloe who put up my belongings as I returned to my room and readied myself for bed. I smiled to myself, I couldn't believe I actually ran into Lucius, for the first time in 11 years I ran into a long lost friend and I couldn't help but wonder what Severus would be doing right about now. I yawned as I drifted off to sleep.
