Darkness.
I couldn't see anything.
The aura was dence as I try to figure out where I am. That is, until everything starts to lighten. Images swirling around me trying to warp into what it was focusing on.
Memories flashing faster then the speed of light.
Voices coming in and out.
Images of my brothers funeral.
And the last thing he told me, the night before he died.
"Crimson," he said, "I wanted to tell, that I love you very much, you are the bestest sister anyone could ask for. See I've been thinking and I don't think it's a good idea for us to be here." I looked at him confused, "what do you mean Kyle?,"
Of course I was still a young girl, I was only about 14 at this point. Barely learning combat from father.
"Because I'm worried about our safety. Especially yours, but I want you to promise me something sis."  I focused on his expresion when these words came out of his lips.
His eyes were scared, but his features were hard and determined. I nodded slowly, "Of course brother, anything."
He came to me and kneeled to my height holding me firmly by the shoulders and spoke softly with so much passion in his voice that tears steamed down my face when he finished.
"Crim, I probably won't always be here to protect you, and that hurts me deeply, but if one day, I'm not here, and you have a chance to leave, you leave, no matter the circumstances. And I want you to run. I want you to live a happy life with someone you love dearly. I want you to promise me, no matter what life you choose, that you choose to be happy, and to follow your heart, can you promise me that?"
At the time, since I was so young, I didn't understand why he was so serious about me being happy, until the next day.
Father had overheard part of our conversation, and thought that Kyle was planning to take me and leave, so he made sure there wouldn't be a risk to his escape. So, just like my freedom, father took my brother from me too.
Obviously his death was made as an accident and no one questioned it. Except for me, I loved my brother dearly, and to have my happiness snatched from me without a thought. It was horrid.
I hated my father ever since. But afraid he would do something to mother if I tried to escape, I stayed and was never able to escape, until I met Lucius. Yes, reasoning of our meeting was set up, but only then did I ever meet my two favorite people in my life. Lucius, the most aristicraric man I've ever met, the most graceful, very skilled, a bit stubborn, and loves his son, he may come off horrid, because of his ill choices but way deep down, he has a wonderful soul and cares deeply, just always worried about the wellfare for his family. Severus, quiet, he doesn't talk much, barely shows expressions other then sarcasm and amusement.
He's a damaged man, with a dark past that he never talks about, he's locked away in his own mind, but he does love his firewisky and of course his books. He used to love to read, books were his escape, away from all the evil we were doing, it saddened me to see him alone so much. I think it was only once that he smiled at me, and I mean a real smile, and not the half-smirk he pulls while he's being annoying or finds something amusing, I mean a truly happy smile.

End

I could feel the silky fabric of my covers in between my fingers, a dim light shined through my eyelids as I try to slightly open then, I was too weak to sit up, so I tried focusing on the room around me. I was still in my room, the candles were lit dimly as a figure moved towards me from the other side of the bed, and then another, I tried to sit but hurried hands patted my shoulder trying to calm me, "Calm down Crimson, you need to take it easy, you've lost a lot of blood." The voice saying those words sounded all too familiar, I guess Lucius found me, "He's right Crimson," said another vaguely familiar tone, it was Severus, he was standing calmly in front of the window.
Slowly but surely I sat myself up against the backboard of my bed so I could talk to them normally. Lucius of course helped me slightly.
I looked at both of them in silence for a moment before asking the obvious, "So, who was it?" They both became tense simultaneously, Lucius locked his eyes on the carpet as Severus refused to turn around, Lucius sighed as I crossed my arms expectantly.
"His name, is Vincent, Vince for short, he happens to be one of the most powerful Vampires in the wizarding world, and apon my arrival....," he glanced at me with guilt, " I had been to late, he had already bitten you," I gasped as my hand slowly rose to my neck and felt the two now forming scars. I looked up at Lucius, but his eyes already told me, I was already infected, I was already a Vampire. But the thirst for blood hasnt hit me yet. I don't have claws or anything of that sort, Severus saw my confusion and spoke up, "I've given you a postion to slow down the effects, in hope, that we may be able to reverse the the effect the venom has on your veins," I sighed in relief, I still have a chance.
Lucius spoke up, " Severus, and I have decided to take turns being here at the house with you, we may have slowed the effects but you can still smell the vampire in your veins, Vince might come back for you. You still have your powers as a wizard but we have no idea what kind of boost the venom will give off, it could be very dangerous if we don't know what we are dealing with," I nodded understanding where they are coming from, "Alright," I said nodding slowly, " I trust you guys," They both smirked at this comment as I yawned and layed back down, in a tired voice I spoke to them softly, "Thanks guys, sorry to cause so much trouble, I'm glad to have you guys again," I smiled at them as I drifted back into a somewhat deep sleep, and this time, there was no dreams, memories or torment, just a calming abys of nothingness as I drift off into a quiet slumber.
