The Most Unlikely Pair (OC/Severus Snape fanfic)

Chapter Fifteen: First Day

         I awoke to a quiet morning. No birds chirped and no roosters sang their songs, complete silence.
       I rose from the bed, a yawn escaping my lips as I did so. I entered the bathroom and readied the bath. As I let the water run I packed up some cloths and books and a couple trinkets to take with me to Hogwarts. I smiled to myself just thinking about it. I'm finally going to be able to pay off my debts and work with one of my best friends, but...I have to help protect all the students, no fun and games. I have to be cautious, and use my abilities to my advantage. The day I have decided to feed is the last Saturday of each month since I'm pretty sure it will be less problematic since the kids dont have classes on the weekend and everyone else will be to busy to pay attention to me.
  
            After bathing and dressing myself in my leather armor, my hood covering my face. I grabbed my suitcase and headed down stairs to meet a waiting Severus with his arms crossed leaned up against the door frame in his normal 'teaching' attire.

         I turned to Cloe and kneeled to her height, "I'll be gone a lot of the time but I'll be visiting ever couple weeks and on holidays, I hope I can trust you to have everything under control while I'm gone?," Cloe bowed and smiled at me, "Of course my lady, you can count on me," I nodded as I patted her head lightly and waved goodbye as Severus led us down the path to the edge of the forest to aparate to the school gate.  With the familiar stomach turn we were off and with our feet on the ground in seconds. The gates opened slowly as we walked up the dirt path and into the school. While we walked in some elves appeared to gather my things and disapeared in smoke to deliver them to my chambers that I will learn the location of later.
       I smiled at them and continued following Severus down a couple empty hallways and up a lot of stairs to a crater in the wall with a giant eagle statue in the middle of it, Severus muttered 'lemon drops' and rolled his eyes as the stairs came to life as it began to spin and rise.

       When it finally came to a stop a corridor was revealed leading to what I assumed to be Albus's office.
      When we arrived to the door Seversus knocked twice and was greeted with a merry "Come in," Sev opened the door for me and I stepped in. Albus sat waiting behind his desk with smirk, "Ah I was expecting you, now have you decided what day you'll need off?" I nodded slightly, "Yes sir I've decided that the last Saturday of each month will surfice," he nodded as he noted it down, "I will trust Severus with those days while you are absent," Severus nodded quietly, he handed me parchment with the location of my chambers on it and some directions. After saying goodbye we headed out and back down the eagle staircase.

         Severus spoke quietly, "Breakfast is about to begin for the students so we will be headed to the great hall now so Albus can announce your arrival, you'll be helping students who need help with a bully or gets attacked by anything they weren't suppose to be around. You also have the right to give or take points from the houses the students are in if you see fit." I nodded as we walked inside the great hall which was filled to the brim with students of all shapes and sizes, they all stared at me and Severus whispering to each other. My blue and brown eyes scanning them with every step I took. I tilted my head at the boy everyone knew as Harry Potter, he starred at me with a slight glare, but I paid no attention to that as we made our way to our seats at the head table, Severus told me to sit in the seat next to his.

        After a moment Albus and another lady walked in from the side doors and sat in their seats. Before another moment passed Albus lifted his class and tapped it with his spoon to quiet the students. "Good Morning Students, as I know you have noticed a new staff member at this table I will introduce you to Crimson Peak, she is our new head of security and will be in charge of any rule breakers and trouble makers. If you need help with any trouble do not hesitate to ask her. And now enjoy your breakfast," with that he rose his hands and food appeared on the tables within seconds. Everyone dug in as did I since I hadn't eaten before coming here. Whilst eating I scanned the room, I met eyes with Lucius's son Draco, who smiled and nodded my way, I smirked and winked at him which made his cheeks turn red as he looked back down to eat. My eyes traveled back to Harry, he was starring at me with curiosity in his eyes I smiled at him, which earned me only a small curve until I looked around to make sure Severus wasnt paying attention and looked back harry who returned my gaze but spit his water our while laughing as I stuck my tounge out at him, my eyes crisscrossing. His friends turned to look at him confused but filled at the water all over the front of his robe.
         I smiled triumphly and contiued eating until breakfast came to an end and it was time for me to start my route around the school grounds.
