Fate made me a demon. It's my choice to aid the humans

(Luc)

---------------------------------------------
A thousand years have passed since the Guardians sealed away a powerful Demon Lord.

The Guardians simply disappeared from the world after the incident. Their shrines were defiled by robbers and treasure seekers.

Guardians were long forgotten. Only thought existed in myths.

It's a full moon night.

The moon looks reddish, bathed in blood. Like in the old prophecy, long forgotten by mankind.

In a small hut, quite far, deep in the woods.

Tonight she would be fourteen years old. No birthday party for her. Charlie's parents got killed three days ago. Leaving her alone in this whole world.

No one knows what killed them. They just dropped dead on their way to marketplace. Probably a magic curse.

For now, she's safe. In her house. There's a protection charm around it. Her father wasn't the greatest wizard around. But he did cast a protective charm around their house. Although with his death, the charm was dwindling.

Her food would run out sooner or later. Probably would only last few more days.

The moon shines brightly. The gentle light shines through a broken window pane, illuminated her wardrobe.

There's a beautiful singing voice coming from her wardrobe.

She opens it.

The voice has come from the family heirloom hidden at the bottom of her wardrobe.

Father said his late grandma asked him to kept it safe. One day it shall be needed.  Although the old woman didn't even know what thing stored inside it.

Her hands tremble when she opens the wooden box. Usually she couldn't open it although there's no lock on the box. Only ancient magical carvings around the box. Even her father couldn't understand them.

Tonight the box opens easily.

A dazzling light strikes her neck and her mind goes blank. In deep trance.

A beautiful singing voice is singing ancient songs to praise dead Guardians for a while.

It took her many minutes to realize it's her voice. Somehow she has a divine voice.

Charlie holds her throat. It's burning, slightly feverish.

Her fate has been decided. She's part of the prophecy, the one father told her many moons ago. Part of their bloodline. Though she didn't believe him back then. Thinking it's just old wives fairytale.

She packs her bag and goes to sleep.

(Father, mother, watch over me from heaven).

In a castle far, far, faraway from Charlie's home...

The full moon night. The night in the prophecy. He has waited this night for twenty five years.

The earth rumbles and the castle starts to collapse like a house of cards.

"Prince Rathbone! You must escape from here! It's coming!" pleads a servant.
