A true friend

It's freezing cold.

Charlie looks at Dante and Claudia. Everyone is nearing their limits. Fighting yetis, wolves and other predators here. Don't know how long they could keep fighting like this.

She apologizes, "I'm sorry. I drag you down like this. Just abandon me and leave."

Dante sneers.

He says, "I can't leave. You know it."

He has lost an arm, not his fighting spirit.

Claudia says, "We have promised Luc. You are also our friend. Of course we would help you."

Charlie says weakly, "Sorry. I know you love him too."

Claudia forces a smile. She says, "It's okay. He never love me. It's arranged between our families. Not by our choices."

Howls continue from in front of the cave.

Dante curses when he grabs his sword. Claudia does the same thing.

Charlie says, "Be safe, everyone."

She sits down and wraps her blanket tighter around her. Freezing cold. It's so easy to fall into eternal slumber.

Charlie pinches her cheeks hard. She couldn't sleep and die here. Her friends have fought so hard for her life. Dante even lost his arm.

Outside the cave...

"Yo! Still going, Lady?" asks Dante.

"Keep your mouth shut. They are coming!" warns Claudia.

They slay any wolf dared to go near them.

Suddenly a huge black wolf appears from under the snow. It begins to strike down the wolf one by one. The rest of the packs flee instantly.

Dante recognizes it as the Alpha wolf he has killed previously.

The wolf turns it's head to him. Saliva is dripping down from its mouth. Something isn't right about this creature. Too many razor sharp teeth like a shark's set of teeth. It's jaws could open widely, like a snake.

Dante tightens his grip on his sword.

A deep growl like voice is heard, "Without me, you're one lousy wussy."

"K, is that you?" asks Dante.

"Who else? Took time to regenerate this creature cells."

Dante smiles widely. He says, "Welcome back, K."

"Hungry. Let me feast first. Talk later."

The parasite wolf begins to eat the fallen wolves.

Claudia says, "Let's go in. Don't want to freeze to death out here."

The cold wind is blowing, freezing everything outdoors.

Inside the cave, Claudia says, "Not much food left."

Dante says, "Wolf meat sounded good right now. I'll go fetch some."

K, the wolf just walks into the cave.

"Sorry. I ate them all," says K.

Dante protests, "You glutton beast."

Claudia says, "It's okay. Wolf meat not my thing. Oh, hope Luc would be back soon."

She hugs Charlie. The girl is freezing cold.

A snowman just walks into their cave.

Dante quickly stands up. Sword is ready in his hand.
