"The baby looks healthy. You can see it sucking it's thumb" the gynecologist points to the screen showing the picture, as she moves the sonography equipment through Pallavi bulging belly. At eight months, the baby had shown good growth. With immense care from the Khuranna's Pallavi was doted like a small child herself, with Rajesh's mother sometimes forgetting her son's existence. It was better for Rajesh that way as he could give more attention to his work. After a long time, they had decided to expand and recruited 5 graduates. Neeraj had taken a new role overseeing their interns and had stepped into the role in full swing. The days now started with Neeraj briefing the interns about their job for the day and what hey should be focusing on learning. He had been constructing several learning assignments for the interns over the last couple months. Clearly 'The Matrix' was moving closer to its goal of becoming a MNC one day.
"Tarun, my friend Tanvi is getting married tommorow. Think we both can make it or should I go on my own?" Jenny asks without lifting her head from her desktop. Hearing the word 'marraige' Neeraj pops up from his desk.
"I will accompany you Jenny, in case Tarun finds an urgent assignment."comes his instant reply.
"I think I trust my co-workers to mange efficiently in my absence" is the sharp reply from Tarun, who is immersed in his world of music and coding.
"You can just tell the truth and Tarun will take you. Lying will get you nowhere" Rajesh intervenes in between, lighting a cigarette.
"What makes you think that I am lying?" Neeraj asks, as he makes his way towards Rajesh, going for his shoulders.
"Because we have known you for a long time." Rajesh replies with a smug look in his face.
"Okay. Maybe I am looking to oogle at some girls" Neeraj replies, with his answer trailing off
"More like staring and drooling uncontrollably at the food" Tarun comes again with his witty reply, which has jenny throwing her head back in laughter.
"All right All right. Its not like I am the only soul who comes to a marraige with his aim at the food. Hell at one of our college senior's wedding Tarun ate so much that he had to hit the washroom in midst of his second round" Neeraj comes back. This almost has Jenny rolling on the floor with her laugter. Once their bout of laughter dies down, all of them get back into the the gist of their work. The rest of the day rolls out pretty much uneventful, with all of them immersed in their work.
As the night rolls down, they head for the end of the day meet. Putting down the numbers for the quarter, Tarun throws the empty marker into the trash. "Slam dunk!!!" he screams at the top of his lungs, causing the rest of the guys to startle out.
"We rocked these two quarters. As per last quarter's requirement of SIDCO we made that amazing game, which did better than we anticipated in the market. SIDCO's market value increased thus increasing our returns. This quarter, I invested some of our investment money into the FOREX trading, through one of my friend and guess what. He was able to squeeze it into a rising trade and literally tripled our investment." Tarun exclaims, as he jumps on his place. Excited, Jenny jumps up from her chair and runs towards Tarun, smashing her lips onto him for a passionate kiss. As for the remaining two, excited with the investment news, bewildered with the sudden sight happening in front of them, they have no idea as to how to react. Couple minutes into the jenny realizes her action and quickly gets down from Tarun's hands and stands beside him.
"Are you two back together" Rajesh asks, breaking the awkward silence.
"Yeah. We got to reminiscing over the past couple months and we realized that we still love each other. So we decided to get back together." Tarun answers.
"Wow. We are happy for you guys" Neeraj answers, gesturing for a group hug. As they hug it out, Rajesh's phone rings out. Taking his phone out, he sees Pallavi's name on the display.
"Hey ho...." is all Rajesh is able to to say, before getting cut by Pallavi's answer on the other end, which takes the color off from his face.
"Don'tworry honey. I am racing my way home now" Rajesh answers as he hangs up and hurriedly packs his bag.
"What happened man? Calm down for a second" Tarun tries to calm Rajesh who is frantically trying to pick some of his fallen stuff.
"Pallavi has gone into labour. I have to rush home. Her water broke a few minutes ago" Rajesh answers, as he races outside the door, before Tarun could offer him to drive him home.
'I am coming Pallavi. Just a few minutes more and I will be with you' flashes through Rajesh's mind, as he starts his bike and vrooms through the darkening sky.
