The marriage preparations in both the houses were going on in full swing. As per the customs, the groom's family would select the attire for the bride and the bride's family would select the attire for the groom. Since Pallavi's attire was in the hands of Mrs. Khuranna, she decided to go with a saree, as she and Pallavi both had a liking of sarees. With the wedding date getting close, Rajesh decided to get a headstart on his workload and finish it up. With burring the midnight oil. Rajesh takes a couple of coding nights a week before the marriage. Pallavi supports his decision, though she does nag him a little bit over his excessive toil, as Tarun and Neeraj are not joining him on his coding nights.
"Ahh. FInally, I have enough headstart that I can afford a couple days off. " Rajesh relaxes putting his hands behind his head and relaxing back on the chair.
"About time dude. You have been toiling extra this whole week and you have bags under your eyes. You need to get some sleep. Otherwise, you are going to fall into the holy fire and burn your already ugly face" Tarun remarks from the corner, balancing a cigarette in his lips.
"Yeah." Rajesh replies, clearly not wanting to reply. For now all he wants is to snuggle into Pallavi's waiting arms. With the clock hitting 9, the trio pack up to leave, when suddenly Neeraj's phone gives out a ping. Fishing out his phone from the pocket, he stops dead on his track, on looking at the sender's name of the message.
"Guys I need to take a rain check. I have to head to my relative's house for the night. Mom and Dad have left to native owing to some property dispute." Neeraj explains to his friends, catching up to them.
"Oh. Ok then tell me where is your relatives house. I will drop you there." Tarun suggests, unlocking his car.
"That won't be necessary man. I will take a cab. Its in the opposite direction" Neeraj replies, looking little flustered.
"Its no big deal man. I don't have any special commitments as of now that requires me to reach home on time. I can drop you." Tarun adds up.
"Thanks Man. I can manage. Plus I have to buy some grocerees and stuff to on the way. So I will manage." Neeraj replies, not lifitng his gaze from his phone.
"All right man, Whatever you say. Travel safe" Tarun remarks , getting onto his car. As Tarun and Rajesh zoom off, Neeraj makes his journey towards his destination.
