I know my story makes no sense but just roll with it.

Love was a whole new topic for Edward, and hard on him as well. After years of piracy, he thought he'd gotten over his previous spouse, Caroline Scott. In truth, he missed his wife but found someone new. Her name is (Y/n). She hadn't loved before and is also foreign to the topic. Let's just say, the journey was an extensive one, but in the long run, it turned out to have an amazing ending.

---Edward's POV---

I woke up and searched the bed for my beautiful wife, (Y/n). On the rosewood nightstand lay a note. As I rolled, literally, rolled out of the bed, I snatched the note.

Edward,

I was called in for work early, I'll be back around 3. Please take care of Haytham and Jenny. And don't forget to feed the cat! I love you, you'll do great!

XOXO, Y-n

Placing the note carefully back to its original spot, I look at the clock. 9:00, it read. I groaned, knowing it would be six hours until (Y/n) returns. Six. Whole. Hours.

"Father, when are you making breakfast?" Haytham stood in the doorway of our bedroom. I got up, walked over to Haytham, and patted his head. He was only eight, and so innocent. Too innocent. Jenny, on the other hand, was 17, and clearly doesn't like me that much. Her reasons are unknown.

"What would you like to have?" I asked him, strolling down the stairs and entering the kitchen.

"Ooh! Can I have chocolate chip waffles? Please!" Haytham begged me, luring me in with those puppy eyes of his. And so, I made Haytham a batch of waffles and took them off of the iron to the plate he was greedily holding. When I put them on the plate, he ran down the hall to the TV lounge area.

"Don't make a mess, Haytham!" I warned, walking up the stairs to bring Jenny her waffles. I knocked on the door to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, and she soon opened the door groggily. Jenny snagged the plate and stared deeply into my eyes before slamming the door shut, right in my face, too. I knocked again.

"Thank you so much for the waffles, dad! I love you!" I baited in a high pitched girly voice. Jenny opened the door fully this time, revealing her entire body. She wore a blue frilly dress, not too fancy but classy. She looked at me and I raised an eyebrow.

"Thank you, Dad," Jenny stated, before closing the door for the final time. A smile appeared on my lips. If only (Y/n) was here...I thought, patiently waiting on the other side of Jenny's door for (Y/n) to come home. Although (Y/n) isn't Jenny's real biological mother, Jenny favorites her out of anyone in the house. Shit! The cat!

---Y-n's POV---

Work at the bank was a hit or miss; you either got tons of clients or none for days. Today was a missed day, which made time go even slower.

"Alright.," I whispered, standing up from my chair. After announcing to my coworkers I was taking my lunch break, I grabbed my phone and hurried outside. Currently, it was 11:27, so I'd thought, 'Why not call Edward and make sure everything's okay?'.

I logged into my phone and pressed the 'Call' app, and searched through my contacts to find Edward's. Finding his took no effort, I pressed the button to call his phone, and hoped he'd answer.

---Edward's POV---

"Dad! The phone's ringing!" Haytham called from the living room. I was in the living room watching (Y/n)'s favorite TV show, (f/s). It was quite entertaining, to say the least.
