"Alright class, open your textbooks to page 257 and read up until the bell. You will have an assignment tomorrow about this, so don't pretend to read!" Mr. Davenport ordered the class, and we all opened our history books. The thirteen colonies, of course, I thought, how practical. He always blabbers on about how horrible that time was. I rolled my eyes.
I opened the heavy ass textbook and began reading. "George Washington was our first president. He leads our armies into the some of the bloodiest and coldest wars of our time, coming out on top." Blah blah BLAH.
"Hey, (Y/n)? What's the textbook page again? I was talking to Connor..." Arno Dorian asked from behind me. I whipped around to be met with those same soft chocolate eyes of his. His messy brown hair up in that uniform ponytail. I found myself lost in those eyes, staring deeply into that eternal pool of hazel for what seemed like forever.
"(Y/n)! What did I just say?! Stop drooling over Arno and read!" Mr. Davenport demanded, snapping me out of my dazing stage. I think I blew it...
"O-oh, the page i-is 257..." I told Arno, who immediately peered down at his book after I was done talking. He smiled.
"Okay, thank you, mon ami (my friend)!" Arno thanked and went back to reading. I resumed reading as well.
-~-~-~-~-~After Class~-~-~-~-~
"Hey, (Y/n)! Get over here!" Aveline demanded, beckoning me with her hand motions. I sighed while rolling my eyes, my binders, and folders weighing me down.
"Hold on, Ave. I gotta hit up my locker, I forgot my pencil case! See you at math!" I called to her as she strolled down the hallway with Connor. I began to reroute in my mind to remember the fastest pathway to my locker across the school.
"Okay, so I can take the hallway by the gym and make a right there..." I calculated out loud, not realizing I wasn't alone in the hallway. I kept walking at a steady pace, crashing into a figure, and dropped everything in my arms.
"S-sorry!" I blushed as I spoke, mentally shaming myself for causing such an idiotic scene. The person and I kneeled down to gather all the belongings I had dropped during the collision.
"Do not be sorry, it was all my fault, la mignonne (cutie)." The male spoke. I knew that voice, as it belonged to none other than the handsome Arno, who has girls fainting at his feet. I blushed even more as I went to grab a fallen pencil, and his hand cradled my own, an accident, of course. I let out a squeak of excitement.
"Um, do you know where our lockers are, mon ami (my friend)? I think I'm lost, Je suis tellement stupide. (I'm so stupid.)" Arno enchantingly asked with a newfound reddish tint spreading across his cheeks.
"Y-yeah, that's where I am heading now, as a matter of fact. You can just follow me if you want." I answered back just as charmingly. And so, he followed me the entire extent of the journey to our lockers about three hallways over.
"Thanks again, (Y/n)! You've proven very helpful today, une spéciale (special one)." Arno thanked once again, slamming his locker shut and leaving you alone in the hallway. Soon the five-minute bell rang, signaling I'd be late to class soon. I quickly snatched up my pencil case and forcefully shut my locker. I cleared the combo and walked away to my next class.
-~-~Next Day-~-~
I walked to school, as usual, no big deal. What I didn't prepare for, though, was snow. Snow, I say!
So, I trudged through the thickly blanketed snow in a light sweatshirt, jeans, and my brand fucking new pair of black Converse! I sighed audibly, paying no mind to the figure I saw in my peripheral vision. They came up to me and draped a scarf around my neck. I wasted no time turning around to greet the mystery person. Arno?!
"Um, t-thanks, I guess..." I stuttered, not knowing how to internally react. Half of me was grateful I now had a savior from the sickening cold, but my other half was screaming to take off running, away from my crush.
"Sorry, I saw you shivering, mon ami. That shouldn't go unnoticed by others, especially men. Chivalry isn't dead, though." Arno smiled, that rare, bright smile I craved for so long. I grinned knowing Arno is happy.
"Thank you, I appreciate it a lot, Arno."I pushed aside all my nervous thoughts and showed my gratitude to Arno my lightly pressing my lips to his cheek, in a small, meaningful peck. With Arno blushing brighter than a heart emoji on Instagram, I beamed with satisfaction and strutted confidently away to my homeroom.
-~-~End Of School Day-~-~
Science, the most interesting subject of them all. Today, Mr. Nehra taught us the Big Bang Theory. It was cool and scary.
It really got into my head; How could something that horrific create such a beautiful, natural environment? I mean, that's really crazy!
This reminded me of me and Arno's current relationship: We only come in contact when we need something from each other, like people with God.
For instance, Arno only bothered me in history because he needed a pencil, and in the hall when he needed to find his locker. I kind of did that too, with the scarf earlier this morning.
Speaking of which, the scarf was conveniently wrapped tightly around my neck, like a Boa Constrictor suffocating its prey. The clothing article smelled of cologne. A musky sweet mixture of pure bliss.
I casually forced the locker door to shut, causing a loud 'bang!' to echo through the now vacant school. I heard approaching footsteps clapping against the cheaply tiled floor, seemingly running towards me.
I turned around to be met with Arno, skidding to a halt behind me, his bag bucking.
"Hey, Arno." My fatigue and stress melted away since I've been speaking with him more frequently than usual. I've been feeling more confident around him.
"Hey (Y/n), I've been wanting to ask you something....." Arno confessed, shifting awkwardly as we began walking slowly down the corridor.
"Yeah, was it is, Arno?" Arno blushed radiantly, stopping to withdraw something from his backpack.
"Will you," He pulled out a bouquet of beautiful (f\f) flowers from his backpack and held it to his chest, "accompany me to prom?" Arno asked, shyly holding e flowers towards me.
"A-Arno, I..." I began, blushing furiously. Arno frowned and stared at his feet, believing he was being rejected.
"If you have someone else, I underst-"
"YES!" I cut off Arno from completing his sentence, and hugged him tightly, mindful of not crushing the beautiful flowers. He leaned into my embrace, thankful to have me going with him to the most popular dance in high school.
When we separated I went to grab the flowers, though the Frenchman had other plans. Arno snatched my wrist, bringing me closer to him once again, and indulging in a passionate, lust-filled kiss.
"Yes, Arno!! Yes!!" I celebrated, still crashed against Arno's firm, muscular chest.
-~-~After Prom-~-~
I was lying comfortably in my bed, thinking about today and how it was such a fairy tale. I opened my diary and began to write.
Dear Diary,
Tonight was filled with fun! Arno asked me to prom, and I agreed, of course! We danced, we twirled around the MPR, and oh God was it amazing. In the end, I was chosen to be prom queen, though prom king wasn't Arno.....it was Edward Kenway. He was an excellent dancer, but he was drunk...and flirty... After Edward and I danced, I practically ran into Arno's arms. He told me how proud he was of me for being queen, and I could tell he was jealous. It was adorable, how he flattered me until Edward left our radius.
This was the best night of my life!! I can't wait until we get married.....
