Nope, not even close to being done. And by the way we're going, this is gonna end up being a mini-series. Which I have no problem with. ENJOY!

"You're a sick fuck, doing that to a child. My child. You'll pay, I swear it." Altair commented before standing up and tying up both the Templar's hands to make sure they can't hurt me again. Or, you know, just because.

Edward walked up to the Grandmaster. Haytham, I think his name was?

"Aye, son. I'm greatly disappointed. A Templar?! The Grandmaster?! You've disrespected the Kenway name, mate! I oug-" Edward scolded, but was intervened by his alleged son.

"You have a grandson."

"Damn right I have a grandson! Don't try to change the subject to that...that beast of a man!" Edward pointed at Connor. He then turned around to face him with tenderness in his eyes. "No offense, Connor."

"None took." Connor nodded.

While the father and son argued with their other heir watching in confusion, Altair and I continued walking towards the abandoned barn. His steps were slow, sympathizing with the fact that I couldn’t walk as fast as him. I was grateful for his empathy.

Altair was so sweet and reliable and so overprotective that it was adorable. I guess what he said was true-he does have a soft spot for children. I smiled.

Even though I was God knows how far away from home, I felt like I was home. The level of comfort was indisputable, and I wanted to stay with Altair for the rest of my life. I fancied him being my guardian, and I think he liked being a father. It’s a win-win, and it’s settled. I’ll stay with them forever. No matter the cost.

“D...Dad.” I hugged Altair tightly around his waist. He flinched at the sudden contact but hugged me back momentarily.

"Come here, little one," Altair beckoned, lifting me with his strong arms and setting me on my shoulders while laughing.

Meanwhile, the sun was descending, plummeting beyond our sight. The sky was transforming from azure to indigo. It has streaks of mauve, merlot, ginger, and canary smeared along the canvas in places to compliment the others. It was simply perfect in every way.

The clouds had dissipated, making way for a clear sky. It was easier to perceive the color scheme without the constant impediment of fluff in the way of the view. I stopped walking to watch the sky.

Altair was confused as to why I was gaping to the heavens with my eyes glazed over. Until he followed my gaze, that is. He, too, ceased his movements and joined my side. We both sat down.

"You like the sky, huh, abinatu (daughter)?" Altair asked, to which I nodded vigorously. I wonder what language that is, I thought.

"What language..?" I squeaked. His smile grew wider at the mention of his culture. I bet he's been eagerly awaiting for someone to ask about his heritage.

"Arabic. Want to learn?" I nodded. The way the sun reflected on his skin and how the shadow from his hood was cast made it all the more magical.

"Okay. 'Hello' is Ahlan wa Sahlan. You try." Spoke Altair. It didn't seem that hard, but the pronunciation was too fast, so I barely understood.

"Aha lan way say lan!" I shouted, which caused Altair to laugh hysterically. I was now confused beyond belief. Had I spoken it wrong? My cheeks grew red out of embarrassment.

"Oh Allah (God), you are too adorable, habibti (love)." Altair ruffled my hair a little. My toothy smile reappeared.

CRASH

In an instant the rest of the Assassins were at our sides, forming a circle with me in the center. Their weapons (hidden blades, guns, swords, tomahawks, air rifles, etc.) were drawn and ready to attack any pursuers. My heartbeat and blood pressure felt like it was going three trillion miles per hour because of how frightened I was.

Although the disrupting noise came from in the direction of the barn, we were still on edge. As the echoes silenced, I urged the group to investigate by running towards the barn. Thankfully they didn't notice until I was halfway there. When they did find me sprinting full speed toward the building, it was combated with Edward and Altair sped off after me faster than water from a waterfall. They snatched me up before I reached the entryway.

"Oh, no you don't!" Edward wheezed, out of air. But I thought Assassins had to undergo rigorous training, including the field of sprinting? Had they not taught him right?

"Are you seriously out of air? I thought you were an Assassin," I commented.

"You just got insulted by a child, Edward. That's pathetic," Altair began, "Looks like I'll have to train you myself, Novice." He placed an exaggeration of emphasizing 'novice'. I broke out in uncontrollable, loud laughter.
