Things Change

Wrong Stop

"I think this is our stop." I said, getting up.

"Are you sure?" Charlie asked, looking out of the windows. I nodded, before stepping off the train. I expected them to be behind me, but they were still dithering by the seats, motioning for me to come back inside. Leo quickly dashed outside.

"It's not this stop!" he said, before grabbing my arm to pull me back onto the train.

Suddenly, the doors closed up and the train started rolling away.

"Wait!" Leo shouted, but it was no use. Demi and Charlie were both standing at the window, watching us with their eyes wide.

"Now look what you've done." Leo exasperated, running his hands through his hair.

"We can just get the next train..." I suggested, but he shook his head.

"I don't have any money! Charlie has it!" he practically yelled.

"Oh." I dropped my head. I didn't like this, I hated it when Leondre got mad at me. I could hear him pacing up and down, looking at a map on a board next to the train times.

"We're gonna have to walk..." he trailed off and came over to me.

"Taylor?" he asked softly.

"What?" I mumbled.

"Are you okay?" he asked, and I looked up at him.

"Yeah." I assured him, but my face must've given it away.

"I'm sorry, Tay. I didn't mean to shout at you. I was just confused." he apologised, pulling me into a hug.

"No it's fine, I'm just being pathetic." I said quickly, breaking away from his arms and turning to the map.

"I'm so sorry Leondre. This is my fault. Demi is probably really confused, Charlie worried... and you're mad." I said, looking at him.

He shook his head again.

I sighed and went to sit on a bench, pulling out my phone.

Omg I'm so stupid!You okay with Charlie? Will you come back for us? We don't have any money :((

Of course! We're catching the next train back. Yeah, Charlie's really nice and I'm trying not to freak out! Just stay there and we will be back ;)

I sighed on relief, and put my phone back in my pocket.

"They're coming back." I called to Leo, who was standing by the yellow line.

He just looked at me with a small smile, then went back to concentrating on the train tracks.

I felt in my pockets and uncovered a random two pound coin. I was hungry, and assumed Leondre was too. I went into the train station building to find somewhere with food. There was a small coffee shop with a shelf of sandwiches. They were pretty expensive. In the end, I found another cheap shop and went inside.

Two pounds managed to get me two packets of crisps and a bottle of coke. When I got outside, Leo was running around worriedly, until he saw me and stopped.

"Taylor! Are you trying to kill me?" he asked, and I rolled my eyes.

"I found some money so I got something to eat..." I replied, handing him one of the crisp packets and the bottle of coke.

"Thanks...but please don't go off without telling me." he said.

"Sorry."

We had just finished the crisps and shared the coke when the train pulled up and Charlie and Demi got out.

I hugged them both.

"We told you it was the wrong stop!" Charlie said.

"I know, I know." I replied, and we both started laughing.

"So...do you want to go to flamingo land still?" Demi asked. I checked the time.

"Well it's not too late..."

We ended up going for the rest of the afternoon, it was fun. Velocity was the first one we went on. Then Hero. And so on.

"Well...that didn't quite go to plan...but I had fun." I said, smiling.

"Yeah, me too. Thanks." Demi said, glancing at each of us.

After a few more stops, we were back home. We said goodbye and I took Demi back to mine so she could pack her bag to go home.

"Thank you so much Taylor!" she squealed, throwing her arms around me.

"It's okay." I laughed.

"Charlie was literally so sweet! I was really worrying and he was just calming me down." she giggled, zipping up her bag.

"Well, you need to come by more often." I said, and went downstairs with her.

"Bye!" I called, and she waved while getting into the car. It drove away, and I went back inside.

It was a couple hours later that I got a call from Leo.

"Hey Leo, what's up?" I asked, sitting down on the sofa.

"Um, I just wanted to tell you something." he said, sounding excited.

"What?"

"Me and Charlie are flying to America to be on the Ellen show!"

"That's amazing! When are you going?" I asked.

"In a couple of days." he replied.

"Aw, I've always wanted to go to America." I said, which was true. It was on my bucket list.

"Well I'll take you someday." he chuckled.

"Anyway I've gotta go, Blair wants me." he said.

"Aw ok, well see you soon!"

"Bye!"

We hung up at the same time, and I sat back. I was really happy for Leo, he'd come so far. It would be amazing for him! But then I suddenly remembered something.

School started again the day after he went. Kat was an amazing friend, obviously, but she wasn't in most of my lessons. People would see their chance now Leo has gone, and they're not too busy flirting with him. Great.

School was gonna be a whole lot of fun.
