The Date

"We need to go somewhere together." Leo decided, as I picked at my food. We were in the canteen at school, and nothing was particularly tasty. Except the milkshakes.

I was just picky though, so it was my own problem.

"What, like a date?" I asked, and he bit his lip.

"Maybe." he winked, and I giggled.

"I'd be up for that."

"Tomorrow after school?" he asked.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"You'll have to find out." he replied, much to my annoyance.

I glared at him as he got up from the lunch table, a satisfied smile on his face. He dumped his leftovers in the bin and walked out.

"Heyy!" Kat grinned, sitting down opposite me.

"Hii!" I greeted her, passing her my slice of pizza.

"Do you want it? The cheese tastes weird to me." I complained.

"I'm good..." she laughed, rejecting it when she saw I'd scraped literally everything off the base so the plate was covered in cheese and pepperoni.

"Where's Leo?" she asked, looking around.

"Being a jerk." I replied, and Kat's eyes widened.

"Why? What did he do?" she asked.

"He won't tell me where he's taking me tomorrow." I replied, and she sighed in relief.

"Jeez, I thought you were being serious." Kat said.

"I am." I replied, and she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever. Samantha's going that way so you might wanna keep an eye on her." she noted, as Samantha walked out and headed in Leo's direction. I groaned.

"Never mind. Leo can handle it." I said, and she just tucked in on the pizza that she bought...it wasn't mangled like mine.

"Can you please just tell me what I'm doing? I need to know what to wear." I moaned over the phone to Leo the next day.

"All I'm saying, is wear something slightly warmer. Preferably. You don't have to." he explained.

"That just confuses me even more."

"Seeya in an hour."

With that, he hung up. With only an hour, I rushed to my wardrobe to pick an outfit.

In the end, I went with a soft brown jumper and a pair of white jeans. Leo had told me it wasn't fancy, and that I was grateful for.

I can imagine dressing up all fancy and dressy to find out we were going bowling or something.

I left my hair down, and added a subtle flower crown nestled on top. It had white blossoms on a black 'vine'. I only really liked the subtle ones, I didn't like to go over the top. Half an hour had passed, and I was ready clothes-wise. I went into the bathroom. First, I did my makeup. I put on more than I usually did, just so I looked better on a date.

I didn't want to get lipstick on Leo, so I went with a dark pink lip gloss that actually stayed on my lips. I then sprayed on a bit of my favorite perfume, and refreshed my breath with s swirl of mouthwash, despite the fact I'd cleaned them no more than ten minutes ago. You can never have breath too fresh, I guess.

Eventually I was ready, with minutes to spare. My mum had been holding me up, going on about how I looked gorgeous and I was growing up already, and that Leo had better take care of me. I rolled my eyes, she'd known Leo for over a year and knew full well he was perfect.

I had just slipped on my shiny black flats when Leondre knocked at the door. He was wearing black jeans and a pale blue top. This boy could wear anything, as simple as he wanted, and still look amazing. I was jealous.

"You look pretty." Leo smiled as I opened the door.

"Thank you babe, you look pretty good yourself." I replied, kissing him quickly before shutting the door and walking down the driveway.

"Blair is taking us...if that's alright?" he asked.

"Of course." I replied, and we got in.

"Ring me if there's any problems...and have fun." Blair told us as we got out. Leo took hold of my hand and led me out. I looked up at where we were. The ice skating rink.

"You know I can't skate." I giggled, and he took me inside.

"That's why I'm here to help you." he winked and payed for us both, handing me the pair of ice skates.

I could roller skate fine...it was just the ice that I found difficult. It was so slippy and there was other people, so I had to be aware at all times.

It was a disco session, so the room was fairly dim and rainbow lights glowed all around. Music was playing overhead.

"Ready?" he asked, as I shuffled towards the edge. I nodded. Leo stepped onto the ice, balancing himself before sliding back to let me on. Gripping his hand tightly, I stepped in front of him and managed to keep my balance.

He was patient, allowing me to move around for a bit along the edges while he skated around in the middle. He was much better than me. Finally, I stepped away from the edge. I slid towards Leo, feeling like a baby taking it's first steps. He held out his hands, and I reached them. Then I tried to go a bit further into the middle, without good results. Someone passed by me at high speed which startled me. My feet slipped and I ended up on my back.

"Careful, princess." Leondre chuckled softly and pulled me up, steadying me with his arms.

"Right, watch me...you push each foot forward, don't stomp. It's like lift, slide, lift slide. Not lift, drop, lift drop." he explained. I copied his actions, and managed to get a good distance.

"Now do it with me."

Leo and I held hands and glided across the rink, I started improving.

We skated for another hour or so, before stepping off. My legs ached a little.

"Did you have fun?" Leo asked anxiously.

"Yes! It was perfect." I smiled.

"I'm sorry it wasn't fancy like most dates, it's just I tho-" I cut him off by kissing him again.

"I already said, it's perfect."

"Are you hungry?" he asked.

"Yeah." I admitted, exchanging my skates back for my shoes.

"There's a KFC across the road." he told me hopefully, and I laughed.

"Classy. I like it."

We went across the road to KFC, sharing a meal of two chicken legs and a portion of chips. We took it in turns to sip at the coke.

A little later, we were back in Blair's car.

We sat in the back, foreheads touching, whispering to each other.

Blair finally pulled up in front of my house.

"Bye, Taylor." he called.

"Seeya Blair...and thank you for the lift." I replied, waving to him.

"And goodbye Leondre." I grinned, and wrapped my arms around his neck. He kissed me deeply, before breaking away.

"I love you."

"I love you more."

"Impossible."

Those words ended my date, and as I wandered inside, dazed, I smiled to myself as they echoed in my mind.
