I read through the words again, I was now sat on the carpet. Leo remained asleep. I got up and sat down on the edge of the bed next to him. I didn't want to wake him up, but I still wanted to apologise.
"Leo...I'm so sorry." I began, whispering.
"I never meant to upset you...I just felt alone. I was alone. I had no one to talk to and it was all getting too much. Everything that I'd bottled up over the week just came out and ended up being aimed at you. I really hope you forgive me, I've been so horrible. I love you, and I never want to hurt you like that again. We've been best friends ever since my first day and I don't want anything below that. Forgive me." I explained softly, even though he was asleep. I found it easier this way.
"I realise now that I was being selfish. You'd just gone to be on one of the most popular shows ever and I expected you to be held back by me. I'm sorry for that too. I know you're worried, but I'm okay. Just a few bruises and scrapes, cuts and grazes here and then. My headache is a killer too, but don't worry. I'm alright. As long as you're here with me. Not necessarily right next to me, but anywhere." I whispered, before getting up. I took a pen from his desk and wrote 'sorry' on a piece of paper. I then pulled the covers over him as he looked cold.
Victoria was waiting downstairs. She motioned for me to sit down, so I did.
"I just want to ask you one question..." she said.
"What is it?" I asked, curious and slightly nervous.
"That first day...the first day you came here. That was blood on your sleeve, right?" I nodded.
"His bruises weren't from football." she whispered to herself, closing her eyes to stop tears escaping.
"Victoria." I said softly.
"It's just...I can't believe I let it go on for so long. I was oblivious to my son's pain." she carried on.
"Don't. Don't blame yourself. He did a pretty good job at hiding it." I replied. She nodded sadly.
"I'm just glad that he's happy now. Because of you and Charlie. Thank you." she said, taking a hold of my hand. All I could do was smile. Just as I was about to leave, Leondre came downstairs.
"Leo..." I mumbled, and he looked up at me. He ran a hand through his messy hair, and was only wearing shorts.
"I heard what you said. I was awake." he said softly.
"You did?" I asked, blushing slightly.
"I woke up when you sat on my bed. I heard everything you said." he added, his eyes watering.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"I'm sorry too." he whispered, hugging me. His skin was warm and comforting, I held onto him tightly.
"I'm sorry I didn't talk to you. I was busy when they came through, and it was really bad signal where we were. And then when I had the chance.. I forgot. That's make me a horrible person." he explained.
"It doesn't." I said, squeezing his hand. I wanted to say sorry again, but I'd already said it way too many times.
Then his eyes landed upon my face, slowly drifting across the rest of my body.
"Where did they come from?" he asked, picking up my arm, and rubbing it gently. I sighed and told the whole story again.
"I'm here for you princess." Leo said, looking me straight in the eyes. I'd always loved his eyes, they were beautiful. A deep brown, like chocolate.
Victoria standing up snapped me out of my trance. I blinked, and quickly averted my eyes.
"What time is it?" Leo asked, and I glanced at the clock behind him.
"Nearly one." I told him.
"And you came at this time to speak to me?" he asked, clearly surprised.
"Of course! I couldn't stand you going any longer thinking I hated you." I said. He just smiled a heart warming smile.
"You look tired. You should sleep." he said.
"Alright...goodnight." I gave in.
"Sweet dreams princess." he then kissed me on the cheek and let go of my hands.
He watched me as I walked down the road to make sure I was safe. I waved at him one last time before opening the front door and going inside.
"Did it go well?" my mum asked, making me jump.
"Uh, yeah." I said with a smile.
"Good." she said happily, before saying goodnight and going up to her room. I got a drink of water and sipped it slowly.
Leo was starting confuse me. Or rather, I was starting to confuse myself. I didn't know exactly how I felt about him, to be honest.
Sure, he was attractive. Especially shirtless...okay did I really just say that. I shook the thought from my head, refusing to think anymore. I just went back to my room and relaxed back in Charlie's arms.
A/N okayyy that was pretty soppy I'm sorry. everyone's been pretty sad so on the next few chapters they're hopefully gonna cheer up...then again, you can never have too much drama haha. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I lost ideas for this story recently, I was struggling what to put but I wrote down a few things and wrote some more chapters :)
