"It's Leo's birthday in two days and I still don't know what to get him." I complained to Kat at lunch, while Leo was still lining up to get his food.

"That's your problem, not mine." she replied, flicking a crumb at me.

"It's easy for you, you're friends. You could get him a pair of flipping socks and it would be okay. Mine needs to be special." I reminded her, and she sighed.

"Well I just got him that jacket - you know the one he keeps saying he wants!" Kat said, and I nodded. Leo had mentioned it multiple times.

Suddenly, I had one of the best ideas.

"I KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING HIM!" I announced, and jumped up from the table. I ran out of the canteen outside, to get out my phone. There was only one area that you could get into the school wifi. Even then, you needed the password. I managed to find it one day when I was called into the office, luckily no one else knew I had it.

For Leo's birthday, I knew how much he loved Ariana Grande so I decided to get him tickets to her concert! I'd read online a while ago that on the 8th October she was performing in London. It was the only show in the UK for a while, so I was lucky to get tickets. It was pricey but I really wanted to make him happy so it was worth it.

I was sat in the wifi spot, behind the school against the outside wall of the office when the bell rang. I quickly sorted it all out. Two tickets to Ariana's show, two days after his birthday. I'd have to keep it a secret, and try not to come out with it. I clicked buy, and slipped my phone back into my bag.

"Where were you at lunch?" Leo asked me as we walked out of school.

"Um, I went outside...to walk around." I replied vaguely, earning a confused look.

"Ok...well I gotta go." he told me, waving towards a waiting car who I assumed was Victoria.

"Seeya." I called, and at that moment Kat joined me.

"So what are you getting Leo?" she asked, and I grinned.

"Tickets to see Ariana Grande!" I giggled, and she gasped.

"Really? How on earth did you afford them? Especially this late, for her only uk concert!"

"I know, I know. I've been saving up for Christmas shopping already, and plus it's Charlie birthday too in like three weeks. Basically I took a huge chunk out of my Christmas money" I explained, and she laughed.

"Well I bet he'll love you more than anything for that."

"But what should I do on his birthday? I can't really give him some stupid make do present until the 8th."

"Just...stay kinda quiet about it until the night before or something. That way you won't end up saying anything."

So I agreed with Kat, I didn't mention anything about Leondre's birthday. When it came to a small close friends and family party, I told everyone but he himself so I didn't look rude, although it was awkward for me because I felt horrible for not giving Leo anything. I just had to deal with it until the next day.

"Leo..could you come over?" I asked him over the phone about five in the afternoon.

"Now?" he asked, hesitant.

"Please?" I persisted, and he breathed a quick 'yeah'. I smiled and hung up, waiting with the unopened envelope in my room, looking out of the window.

Eventually Leondre was at my door, and I brought him upstairs.

"So...I'm sorry about yesterday." I apologised, as we both sat down on my bed.

"It's fine, I didn't expect anything." he assured quickly, and I shook my head.

"Of course I'm going to get you something! It's your birthday!" I rolled my eyes, pulling out the envelope.

"So...I got you this."

He slowly took it from me, inspecting it and looking up at me curiously. His fingers traced the line where it was sealed, and carefully ripped it open. I think he was expecting it to be a card or something, so I couldn't help laughing at his expression when the tickets dropped out.

"A-Are you serious!" he stuttered, and I nodded, biting my lip. I was still anxious as to whether he could and would go or not.

"Thank you so much!" Leo shouted, throwing his arms around me. I smiled and hugged back, before he kissed me and picked the tickets up again.

"Is the other one for you?" he asked, and I shrugged.

"Anyone you want to take, really." I said.

"Actually, I was thinking of taking Charlie..." he began, and my expression slightly dropped. I wasn't expecting him to take me, of course but I would've liked to go. He laughed when he saw my face.

"I'm only kidding! Of course I'm taking you!"

I gave a small smile and leaned my head on his shoulder.

"How much were they?" he asked.

"It doesn't matter!" I whispered, and he rolled his eyes.

"I feel bad though, because they were probably really expensive."

"Well don't. It's your birthday, enjoy your gift."

"You're already all I need." he replied, wrapping an arm around my waist and kissing me softly, clutching the tickets in one hand and my hand in the other.
