Fatima

I met him standing on the bridge with his back turned to me. I rushed home from the clinic to give him my good news.

"Nas, I......." I started but trailed off before noticing his eyes. They were red. From crying. "Is everything okay?"

"It's fine. Just nothing." He said with a sad smile.

"Please tell me" i hadn't realized it but my mood has dipped at the sight of his unhappy face.

"I came here to see you and then it dawned on me. All those years I've spent being alone and not being with you, all that time spent not believing you were out there, is the only thing i ever regret in my life." He took a long pause. He looked me straight in the eyes, unblinking. I tried not to look away to encourage him to tell me more. He continued "and i only found you after my timer was set, just after they told me my life was over. Why is life never fair?"

He took a step towards me, without a break in motion, he hugged me.
