"READY?" Ruben asked as we threw on wind breakers.

"Yeah," we said simultaneously, grabbing our boards. It has rained since 8, on and off all day, but the streets were clear which was perfect for skating.

"Guys, be careful the road is slippery and if you aren't careful you'll drift. Be aware of where you're skating and the cars around you. Do you hear me?" Ray said and we all nodded.

The boys set their boards down and began to skate. I quickly set mine down, and followed, Ray trailing behind me.

It was sprinkling a little, but nothing much. It had no affect on us.

We skated through down town, finding almost no cars. It was so rare that it rained that nobody dared to drive, everyone either took a bus or just didn't go anywhere.

It began to rain, like actually rain, soaking my vans.

"Aye!" Fourthgrade yelled, and we all pulled over, "let's get something to eat to let the rain dial down," he said and we nodded skating to a Mexican restaurant a block down.

We sat down, soaked, the worker looking at us as if we were deranged.

"Hi, can I get you guys some drinks?" A teenage girl, maybe a little older than me said. She made direct eye contact with Fuckshit, biting her lip. A touch of jealousy hit me, so I hit my cheek to avoid saying anything.

"Water," I said speaking up, the boys responded with Coke, Dr. Pepper or lemonade and the girl walked away.

"So what are we supposed to do now?" Stevie asked, shifting in his seat. I tapped his shoulder mouthing 'sit still'.

"I don't know, wait for the rain to die down, then skate, around back to the shop? What else?" Urban said and we agreed, nodding.

"Okay, but the roads will be flooded, and slippery. I'm certainly not trying to eat shit," I stated and the boys became silent.

"And who has money?!" I asked and the boys all turned out their pockets.

The only people that had money were Ray, Fuckshit & I.

Together we had about 50 dollars; enough for lunch, but i was hoping to get my brother a birthday present with my 30 dollars.

"Hey, I'm really not that hungry but I'll pitch in for lunch," I said holding my stomach. The boys all raised an eyebrow, "what do you mean Summer?" Fourthgrade said, but Stevie interrupted him, "you mean Cameron." He taunted and I smacked his face.
