" What's the matter ?", he asked when he saw you crying.„How could I forget about all this... About you. About my Kids. Your family. About everything we used to do. I really... really want to remember it all. But I can't. I can't be that bad to forget those things."
He laid his hands on your shoulders and you thought that he was going to hug you again, but he only stroked your arms in a comforting way.
„Stop... It's not your fault. It's not your fault, okay ? You are going to remember. For sure..."
You calmed down after a few minutes. You jumped and almost got a heart attack when he tickled you.
" What are you doing !"
" I'm sorry. I thought you'd... That used to cheer you up."
Allthough you felt more comfortable around Xiumin, being close to him was still making you nervous and bothering you. You didn't want to hurt his feelings. Still you told him how you felt and he said he was totally fine with you two sleeping separately.
But sometimes when you made your way to the kitchen to drink some water in the middle of the night, you saw him through the half opened bedroom door. He was sitting on the floor, face buried in his hands. He never really showed you this side of him. You didn't want him to suffer. But you didn't know how to cheer him up either.
When he didn't have to work Xiumin took you to all the places where you had spent time together. Sometimes with and sometimes without the kids. You tried to make things easier for him. You often cooked when he came home from work. He tried to adapt to your needs where he could. Noticing your sudden interest in video games and in cartoons the older you had found too childish he bought some games and DVDs for you. But he also reminded you of the fact that you were an adult when he taught you more about the kids. Or about housekeeping. Or taxes. Ew... taxes.
You were always hoping to remember something. Anything. But whenever something seemed familiar to you, the feeling disappeared and left you confused. Even now, while you were standing on the rooftop of one of the highest buildings of the city. It was an amazing view. You were pretty sure you must have been here.
„Do you know why I took you here ?"
„No."
He looked at you and suddenly his voice was very serious.
„Miss, this area is prohibited for visitors."
„What are you talking about ?"
„Please come...
...with me.", the police man said.
No... not now. Did some jerk really have to call the cops ? You had just discovered the place where Chairman Jeon was said to pay bribes to maintain one of the most environmental harmful companies. It was only visible from this very rooftop. The proof photos you had taken would be an absolute breakthrough for a twenty-one-year old student like you. You couldn't risk any trouble with the police. You were about to leave anyway. So you just decided to run away.
„Hey!"
After a few steps your equipment made you fall down. The wind made your hair cover your face, but you were busy collecting the content of your bag. He grabbed your arms.
„Miss, what you're doing is called unauthorized entry. You're..."
The wind changed its direction and released your view. You saw his face for the first time.
You just looked at each other for a few seconds. It looked like he tried to hold it in, but he smiled. You didn't know why.
