It's been a week since Bex found out she was pregnant. And today was her first appointment.
She could've gone earlier, but with her new business, Cloud 10, it's been a little hard to work around her schedule. Especially with Andi. She didn't want to tell Andi till things were confirmed by the doctor and make sure everything was okay.
But it's been super hard.
Bex is not the person who can really keep a secret, an exciting secret that is.
There has been almost three times where Bex has almost said something, but luckily Bowie was there to help her. And luckily Andi hasn't been suspecting anything.
"Good morning love!" Bowie said as he walked out to the kitchen towards Bex.
"Morning!" She responded.
"Andi already left for school?" He asked.
"Yeah. Her and Buffy wanted to leave early to go get doughnuts before school. Which is a good thing because I don't think I can keep quiet for too long." Bex explained.
"Haha. Today is an exciting day! What time is your appointment?" He asked.
"Uh.... 10:30 I think." She answered
"You think?"
"Hey. It's early in the morning, and I'm not a morning person. I also don't work today. So my brain is in off-mode. And I'm pretty sure it is! If it isn't, we will find out when we get there." Bex replied.
"You have a good point. But if it were me, I would remember." Bowie said with some sass.
"Ohh you don't want to be me. Being pregnant is a lot of work. I don't think you want to wake up every morning throwing up, having to use the bathroom every 5 minutes, and more to come. It's not that fun." Bex said back also with a little sass.
"You have proven your point. I shall go get ready now." Bowie said leaving the kitchen to go get ready.
Once Bowie got ready, then Bex, it was time to leave for the appointment. Both of them got into the car and left to the doctors office.
Once they got in, Bex filled out a little bit of paper work which didn't take long. After that, she went to go sit next to Bowie.
"Wow. This feels so weird.... I'm actually excited!" Bex said.
"Haha. Why wouldn't you be?" Bowie asked.
"Because last time I was here, I was only 16, with my parents, and lots and lots of judgy looks. It wasn't as exciting."
"Oh yeah. Kinda forgot about that.." Bowie responded.
Before Bex could say anything else, it was time for her to come back.
"Ahhh I'm so nervous!" Bex said looking up at Bowie.
"Everything will be fine. Why wouldn't it be?" Bowie asked.
With a worried voice Bex responded "What if I'm not pregnant and the test was wrong?"
"I think your overthinking. It will be okay. I promise." Bowie said as he grabbed Bex's hand.
Both of them walked into the room and Bex went to go sit on the table like chair.
Before the doctor could do anything else, he asked Bex a couple questions just to get an update. After that, it was time.
"Alright. Let's take a look! I'm going to put the gel on, it will be cold. Just a little warning." He said to Bex.
Bex was too anxious to even notice the gel when he put it on.
Both Bex and Bowie where anxiously looking at the screen that showed the ultrasound to see if they could find something.
"Ah ha! Here's the baby! You are pregnant!" The doctor said pointing to where the baby was.
"Oh my god! Oh my god! I can't believe this!" Bex said while putting her hand over her mouth.
Bowie who was still looking at the screen, looked confused. "That's the baby?"
Bex laughed. "Yes. I'm not that far along, the baby doesn't instantly look like a baby Bowie. It takes time."
"I knew that." Bowie said as he blushed.
"Speaking of how far along you are," the doctor said turning over to Bex handing her a napkin. "You are about a month! So not too far. But so far, everything is looking great! Just make sure you keep yourself healthy by taking vitamins and eating well. Okay?"
"Got it." Bex said excitingly.
The doctor then got up to shake their hands thanking them. "You can go up to the front desk and schedule your next appointment. Until then, I'll see you two next time!"
Once he left, and once the door shut, Both Bex and Bowie looked at each other for a moment, then both started to smile and jumped with excitement. "I can't believe this is happening!" Bowie said. "I'm going to be a dad again! I'm so excited!! I love babies!!"
"I am too!!" Bex said back. "I'm so excited to tell Andi! She's gonna be thrilled!"
Bowie smiled at Bex. "She really is. I can't believe she's going to be a big sister." Then he hugged Bex and gave her a kiss.
