The Trial - Chapter 9

LIZ'S/YOUR P.O.V.

I was taken to a cell. I was naked and dirty from being thrown into a muddy, moldy, and generally disgusting area. 

I waited for many, many hours until I was taken out of my cell, shackles still on. I was put in a  large, tan shirt that went down to my knees so I was no longer exposed. Then, the hoard of military policemen surrounding me brought me to two huge doors. One opened them and I was pushed, shoved, and thrown to the middle of the room. In seats surrounding me where the Military Police and the Survey Corps. 

I looked at the Corps, specifically Levi. He wasn't looking at me, but talking to Erwin and Hange. They were either planning a way to save me, get rid of me, or kill me. I didn't really know what to think, but I did my duty. Historia will be fully protected as Queen now, even though I feel some way for Levi, I don't see a reason to live any longer. 

A man in a black robe banged a wooden hammer as he sat down in his chair in front of me, "This Trial is now in session. Today we are here with a young girl. Someone, please state the meaning of the situation." 

Nile Dok, the Commander of the Military Police stands up, "This disgusting woman poses a large threat to humanity. Not only did she murder over 20 of my men some years ago, she had the titans do it. She controlled them! And she can also turn into one herself. We should dissect her immediately and then dispose of her." 

The judge looks over to me, "Is it true young lady, that you ordered a group of titans to kill military police around three years ago?" He eagerly looks at me, his glasses down a bit. 

My hands were tied behind my back, and my feet were also in shackles. I was kneeling on the floor and looked up to him, "Yes." I stared at him blankly. 

"Hm, so you are guilty of this crime... and is it true you are also a titan shifter?"

I glared at him, "No, I am no such thing."

"SHE LIES!" Nile screams at the judge. 

The judge glares at him, "QUIET YOURSELF OR I WILL HAVE YOU HANGED!" He looks back over to me, "The man says that is not true information. Can you explain this?"

I give out a creepy cackle. The military and Corps looks scared yet shocked at my actions, "You make me laugh, Your Honor. I am not human, nor titan shifter. What everyone here doesn't understand is that I am a titan. I AM A TITAN. In this form, and not in this form. I may look like a human, have features like a human, but I am no human." I looked up to the judge yet again, "Get one of your idiotic men to move my hair to the side." A man came up and revealed my pointed ears.

"And what does that prove?" The judge seemed like he didn't care, like it was no big deal. 

"Fine, cut off my head." I stared at him. 

I heard gasps from behind me, "Is that what you really want?" The judge asked me. 

I just looked at him, he got the idea. 

A few men turned me around so I was facing the audience. Another, laid my head down on a chopping block. Yet another, had the ax and was getting ready to swing. I looked at Hange for a moment, she was crying. Levi looked... sad. He was crying. I put my head down but raised my voice when I said this, "DO IT YOU DIRTY SCUM!" The ax came down on my head and blood splattered everywhere, the room filled with steam. 

Hange screamed, "HOW? HOW COULD YOU KILL HER?" She was trying to get out of her seat, but Erwin was holding her back. Levi had is head in his hands, sobbing his heart out. 

Then they heard another cackle. They looked at the judge and he was out of his seat with fear. He was pointing in front of him. And there I was. Just standing there in my shackles, "You think cutting off my head will kill me. I said what I am on top of that wall." I started getting angry, my head already regenerated within seconds. I yelled with a growl, "There is no way to kill me." I slightly moved my arms and legs, breaking the shackles. I stood up, "Do I need to prove to you any longer that I am indeed a titan and that I have done nothing put protect humanity? Your friend here fails to mention that I killed his men because they were trying to kill me and the ones I love. I have protected the walls for over 500 years undetected up until recently. I was alive before the walls were even built. I watched the titans eat countless people and I have saved many more. Yes, there were days in my youth where I ate my fair share of humans, but those days have been long gone. I made a vow 400 years ago to protect the true royal family. And I kept the promise. But now seeing your stupid, horrendous ways of discipline, I think I still have some protecting to do for my queen, Historia." I was furious with anger. 

The judge sat down, "So the Queen of Titans serves the Queen of the walls? This is very interesting. Survey Corps, do you have a proposition?"

Erwin stood up, "Yes. We shall put her under Lance Corporal Levi's watch. She will be implemented into his squad. We will use her for all means necessary and at this time, we shall use her for taking back wall Maria. We have known this woman for many years. She had done nothing but help with research and the fight for humanity. Thank you."

"Hmm, that is all? Very well." The judge looks over to me again, "What is your name Queen of Titans?"

I look to the judge and over to Eren. He seems confused as to why I am looking at him. 

"Liz." I stare at the judge in the eyes.

The judge now looked curious, "Do you have a last name?"

"Yes."

The judge was getting impatient. I knew he wanted to know my last name, "What is your last name? Answer me."

I mumbled to my save, "God dammit."

"ANSWER GIRL, we will wait here all day till you do. And if you never do, you will never see your damn queen, Historia, ever again!"

I looked up at him and glared, "Fine. FINE! I am Liz..." I look down and then around to Eren, he leaned forward curiously, Levi also waiting impatiently. I look back to the judge, my hair covering my face, "Liz. Liz Jaeger." I mumbled, so no one could hear me. 

"Speak up!" The judge yelled at me. 

I stood up and pushed my hair behind me. I focused my vision on the judge, "Liz Jaeger." the judge came forward to speak but I stopped him, "I know what you are going to ask," I look to Eren, he looks angry yet tears are streaming down his face, "I am related to Eren Jaeger, the Titan Shifter." 

"But how can you be so old, yet he is so young, the timelines don't match up?" The man in the black robe was confused. 

"Grisha was the Founding Titan. This titan lived long ago, a little after the walls were built 500 years ago. Once I was 100, his father was brought into this world. Yes, we are biologically related. And so as time went on, Grisha went to the walls, where he was found and taken in. He fell in love... in a way... not really, but anyways, his wife became pregnant, that was when, Eren, came into this world."

The judge looked intrigued, "Then how are you so young? And what is Grisha and Eren Jaeger to you?"

"I age very, very slowly. Well, technically I stopped aging around seven years ago." I answered honestly, "Grisha was my younger brother, so Eren is my nephew. When Eren was given the titan serum, he ate is father, which gave him the ability to shift into the Founding Titan or the Second in Command."

The judge was intriqued, "Then who did you eat? And what do you mean by 'Second in Command'?"

I scoffed, "I ate no one, I was born this way. Born a titan always a titan. As the Founding titan, Eren has the ability to control titans, but to a certain extent, since he is still human with the ability to shift. I am their queen, full titan, the only one who can reproduce, the only one they will listen to."

"Does this mean, if you have a child, they will be the next queen and a titan?"

"No, the child will be human if the partner is human, which is the only way since titans can't reproduce. And I can't die... So I will always be queen. Now, no more questions." I answered all his questions to the extent of what I want to tell. 

"Very well then. I guess I have heard enough for now." He banged his hammer, "The Scout Regiment has gained custody of Liz Jaeger, Queen of Titans. Thank you, good day." He walked off. 

Hange ran to with tears streaming down her face, "My Liz! My my! I missed you so much! Don't scare me like that anymore."

I looked at her, "I can't guarantee that. But, I missed you too, Hange." I hugged the woman back. 

Erwin patted me on the back and the rest gave me hugs.

Eren and Levi were the only ones left. The rest were preparing a feast at he castle and were getting be prepared to face Historia and let me tell her the news since she was not allowed to be here today. 

Levi came up to me, "Meet me after dinner tonight in your room. But for now, you have some things you need to discuss with your... nephew." I nodded and he walked off. 

Eren approached me, but before he could speak, I spoke first, "Come. Let's go for a walk."
