Past and Nighttime Discussions - Chapter 10

LIZ'S/YOUR P.O.V.

Eren followed behind me out of the courthouse. I turned around to see him looking down at the ground, his hair covering my face. All of a sudden I hear a battle cry, Eren charging at me with a fist full of hate. I moved to the left out of his way, so he went charging into a wall. I turned around and he was getting off the ground since he had fallen from impact. He charged at me again, but I kept dodging. As much as I know he is angry, I won't let my nephew hit me. 

Many minutes have passed and hes still trying to land a hit on me. The boy is out of breath and can barely stand; I have dodged all his attempted assaults. Eren starts to charge at me again. I'm tired of this bullshit. As he is about to his me, I grab his fist. His eyes widen, then narrow with determination. He starts punching as fast as he can, but I dodge all of them. Then I swing my arm back and throw it forward towards his gut. He lets out a grunt as hes knocked down to the ground. I kneel beside him, "Trying to kill me won't solve any of your problems. I know you are mad at me for lying to you, but let me explain everything to you."

Eren throws a punch at my face but I catch it, "Listen boy, if you don't want to know, fine by me. But if you keep throwing those damn punches at me I will kill you or have the titans eat you, no matter our blood relations or not!" 

Eren settles down and stands up, "I want to know! And... and I am sorry for trying to hurt you. I was just s-s-so angry for the lie you told straight to my face. I had hoped you were my relative, the only living one I had left, and you said no. But to find out that was a lie, man... It hurts. You are the only thing I have left." Eren looks up to me with tears in his eyes. 

I lift my hand to his face and wipe his tears, "Dear boy, I have never been with you. You shouldn't care what happens to me. I did everything I could to watch you grow up and become who you are today. I failed, Eren. I have failed to protect you so many times. I failed the one request your god damn, fucktard father gave to me, to protect you... and Carla." I look down. 

"I don't think you could have prevented my mothers death, Liz. It was fate that decided that, and I have moved on from it. I think... I think it was meant to be that way. I think I was destined to meet you, like you were to meet Levi and the rest of us and to help humanity. Like how you were destined to be the Titan Queen." Eren smiled at me and I looked at him again. 

"Ask me anything Eren, and I will answer honestly. You deserve the truth." I stared at him. 

"Alright then, well I guess I do have a few questions," Eren looked away from me then back again, "How are you related to my father? Like how is that possible and why are you so young yet old?"

I sighed, "Well I am your fathers older sister, so I am your aunt, you are my nephew. I know the timeline makes so sense right now, but to explain, I was born from a regular family before the walls were built, but I was shunned because I was... different. My family left me, and so I was left alone. I guess I was just chosen to have these powers, my parents were normal people. I had gotten so angry one day, after I had found them again and encased them in a crystal like substance, sort of like how Annie protected herself. 99 Years later it somehow let them out and it turned out, my mother was pregnant with Grisha. Grisha was born 100 years after I had encased them, therefore, I am 100 years older than your father. At this point, I knew what I was, but I didn't know I could morph and I didn't know I was the Titan queen either because...." I looked down, "Because titans didn't exist yet."

Eren was taken back... He was taught that titans had been around since the beginning of time. 

I continued my story, "Our parents were afraid Grisha would be like me, so they left him with me. As the years went on, I raised your father, but my powers took a turn and I did something regrettable, and to this day... I still don't know how I did it. I turned your father into a titan... not a shifter, Eren. A titan. And from that day forward more people were turned into these creatures. I had turned most of humanity into titans. 400 years later, those who had survived were encased in the walls, which you all have discovered were built from many colossal-like titans. This was also my doing. I created the walls and wiped the memories from the humans so they wouldn't find me, and so humanity could live yet again. I struck a deal with the Reiss family and they had conducted a serum to turn a titan back to human, but they would have the ability to shift between the two. During these 400 years, I was a titan for about 489 of them. I turned titan with your father. He was 11. I gave Grisha the serum and he became the first shifter, taking some of my power. He became what you are, the Founding titan. Each time a serum is injected into a titan, they are given a piece, more like a copy of some part of my power. That is why you are able to control titans in a way. You are strong, intelligent, and can control their minds and actions, you can also crystallize, that is the power you were gifted. A titan can also eat a titan shifter and gain those powers like you know, and the serum can also be injected into a human to turn them titan and then eat a shifter to gain those powers, like you also know, since... Since that happened to you."
