I froze in the doorway of Elijah's room, watching Klaus who leaned over his brother's bed. Elijah was in a deep sleep under one of their mother's spell. My boyfriend groaned in pain and I slowly entered the room. It was like he didn't even notice me. I stood next to him, peering over at his face. I grabbed onto his arm, yanking him away because his nose was bleeding.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"I'm trying to enter Elijah's thoughts to wake him," he said, wiping his nose of the blood. "Esther's locked me out."

I looked over Elijah, noticing a reddish purple scaly mark on his neck. Besides that everything else about him looked peaceful. "Is that rash a side effect of the witchy acid trip he's on?" I questioned.

Klaus frowned and tugged at Elijah's shirt to see more of the rash. "I haven't seen this since I was a child. Mikael would return home from battle more blindly temperamental than usual, and our mother would use the petals of a rare merlock orchid to put him to sleep. She would mend his mind with a spell, and then wake him with the roots of the same plant. If she has access to it now, then maybe it also grows in the Bayou. Let's go look—You need clothes on."

I laughed and nodded. "Sorry. After our rendezvous this morning and our shower I went to my room in just this robe to do my makeup. My hair doesn't look too bad tho. Right?" I asked him.

"Looks long. Looks like you need a trim."

I pouted, "I know. It's a little dry at the ends. I'll have to get it cut when you're not dragging me on an adventure."

"You don't have to go."

"No, no. I want to, baby," I assured him. I kissed his cheek then headed for the door to go back to my room to dress. "I'll put on some shorts so you can look at my legs all afternoon."

"Yes!" He cheered.

"By the way you didn't feed me yet. My breakfast got cold and soggy. Can we stop somewhere?"

"Of course."

I rolled my eyes as Klaus held up a finger to me to hold on as his phone rang. All while we were arguing on where to get food. "Yes, Hayley? Danielle and I are out to find the antidote for Elijah's condition... We don't need help... No. You stay there with your wolves and mind the fort," Klaus told Hayley apparently. "Stay clear of her. I mean it, Hayley. She already got to you once. What would happen if Elijah were to wake and find you a victim of her madness?"

Klaus smirked after that question. Then he hung up without another word. He turned to me and I narrowed my eyes on his arrogant face. "Put your damn finger in my face to hold on again. I dare you," I said, smacking him on his hard chest out of annoyance.

"Did you decide what you want?" He asked instead, grabbing my hand as I was pulling it back from his chest.

"No, Klaus. That conversation was a minute. Again not enough time off the bat to decide what I want to eat."

"Danielle, I'm not just going to drive to nowhere. Pick or starve."

I scoffed and looked to my right outside the car window. We were pulled over for the record. And only two blocks away from home because he asked what I wanted to eat and I said I don't know before he threw a fit. "Guess who is no longer getting between these legs. I starve, you starve," I commented.
