Gut Feeling

I watched the video for the hundredth time in a row, the video that one of Aiden's friends had gotten off the security camera's in Chrissa's home. Damn, that woman sure loves her security. Anyway, the video was edited to take out the fact that she and her guards were held at gun point though.

I was currently laying in bed watching the video on my laptop, watching as the views were raised and the news anchors talked about it.

A clip of police arresting Chrissa, Zak, Chrissa's friends, and the security was then showed. I laughed at the fact Chrissa was crying, screaming that she was innocent. "She's such a bitch," I said to Remington, who was laying next to me, holding me as if I was just going to be ripped away from him again.

"Yeah," he said. "It's funny to think she thought she actually had another chance with me," he added after a quick pause.

I turned my phone off and placed it on my bedside table before turning on my side to face Rem. "She thinks she has every opportunity in the world," I said and he lightly laughed.

He carefully brushed a strand of my colored hair out of my face. "You're beautiful," he whispered.

I couldn't help but blush, a smile forming on my face. "I love you," I replied.

"I love you too," he replied to me. "I don't want to let you go anymore," he added, pulling me close to him.

"I don't want you to let me go," I replied in a hushed voice. "I would lay next to you forever if it was possible."

"And I would hold you, never letting you go," he said.

I closed my eyes, taking in the comfortable and relaxing feeling of being with him. "We sound like idiots," I realized, laughing.

He laughed too, just tightening his grip on me. "Just go to sleep."

I smiled to myself as silence took over the room. It took a few moments before the slight sound of rain was heard. Odd enough, I found something peaceful about the sound, yet I felt like I was about to loose everything as well.

I slowly worked my way out of Rem's grip and got out of bed. I walked over to my laptop and opened up my email. I let the mouse scroll over her name a few times before finally clicking it.

I still wonder if contacting her would be a good idea. I haven't seen her in a while do to all the crazy stuff happening, but the last time I heard she wasn't doing very well.

I quickly sent a request to meet up and shut my laptop off before crawling back into bed with Remington. I cuddled as close to him as I could and slowly fell asleep to the sound of rain.

************

I woke up to the sound of my phone going off like crazy, so I grabbed it and looked to see what was going on. It turns out it was just a bunch of notifications from Instagram. I groaned, turning my phone off and setting it back in the table before turning to face Remington, who was still sleeping.

I closed my eyes, snuggling closer to him, not wanting to get out of bed. I felt him move a little as well, wrapping one of his arms around me. I couldn't help but to smile to myself in that moment, knowing how at peace I felt.

"Ronnie, you have an email from someone named Kate on here, maybe Cat" the sound of my youngest sister said, making me jump a little.

I moved and looked towards my desk to see her sitting at it on my laptop. "Nati, what the hell are you doing in here? Get out, we were trying to sleep," I said frustratedly.

She got up and rushed out of my bedroom, closing the door behind her while giggling.

I groaned and looked at Remington to see he seemed to still be asleep. Seeing that, I got up and walked over to my computer. I looked at the e-mail Natalie pulled up and read over it.

Come on Rosie! You don't have to email me like you do your clients, you have my phone number! And no, I'm not doing very well, Sophia's cancer is back. They don't believe she will make it this time, so I've been spending my free time at the hospital with her. If you want to meet up, stop by the hospital, I'm sure Sophia would like to see you as well. It's the same hospital as last time.

- Kat

I felt a wave of guilt wash over me as I finished the paragraph. I knew something bad was going on, I'm glad I messaged her. Kat's my cousin on my mom's side. We used to hang out with each other all the time, comforting each other when something bad happened. I even have a box filled with pictures of me her, her sister Sophia and my sisters and brother.

Sophia had grown attached to me in the time I would hang out with Kat. In all the time I've known her, she has been the nicest person I've ever met.

I stood up and walked over to my drawers. I pulled out a pair of blue jeans with a few rips in them and a long sleeved, black, turtleneck. I quickly changed into the clothes and slipped some shoes on.

I grabbed a hairbrush and ran it through my hair before going to the bathroom and taking care of my needs in there. I then walked back out and grabbed my keys before leaving a note on the table for Remington. I then grabbed my phone and walked out of the house, getting into my car, and starting the thirty some minute drive to the hospital.

Kat won't be surprised but hopefully Sophia will.

Sorry I've been so late guys, it's been rough. Luckily I'm out of arm prison though and I can get back to writing!!! Hope you guys enjoy, only two or three more chapters left before I'm finished!!!
