Have We Met? (Remington Leith)

I walked through the white halls that smelled strongly of medicine and cleaning products. After searching for a while I finally found room 214. I turned into it and knocked gently on the door. Once I walked all the way in I seen the people I've been meaning to see in a while. Sophia was sitting up in her bed and Kat was laying on the couch asleep.

"Ronnie," Sophia said excitedly, throwing her arms outwards.

I hugged the small girl before moving back to take in her sickly appearance. "How are you doing Feefee," I asked the fourteen year old girl.

"Okay, I guess. The doctors said it's pretty bad this time. I've already been through two chemo treatments," she described to me, making my heart ache.

"I'm sorry I couldn't be here any sooner. I've had a lot on my plate," I apologized, taking a seat in the chair.

"Yeah, I seen you on the news earlier. I can't believe that girl kidnapped you," she said as I reached out and grabbed her hand.

"Let's not talk about that right now," I said, my eyes traveling to her sister. "How long has Kat been asleep?"

Sophia's eyes traveled to her sister as well. "She fell asleep almost as soon as she came in. I wish she would just go home and get some rest."

"I'm fine, my body just has to get used to the schedule again," Kat said, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.

"It would help if you actually sleep when I do. Your body can't handle much of anything if you don't get enough sleep in your system," Sophia said.

"I'll be fine, So-so," she said looking at the ground.

"Kat, can we talk outside," I asked and she looked at me curiously.

"Sure, I guess," she said and we both got out of our seats and started walking to the door.

"We'll be right back, Feefee," I said as we walked out.

Once we were in the hall I closed the door to Sophia's room and turned to look at Kat. "Now that I know how Sophia's doing, how are you doing, and don't lie."

"Not so good. This is the fifth time it's back and it's almost brother's death date. Not to mention work has been rough. My clients are starting to change over to other people and I'm afraid it's going to take me ages to pay off the hospital bill," she said, breaking down into tears.

I pulled my younger cousin into me and held her while she sobbed into my shirt. "I wish I came here earlier, this is to much for you to deal with alone."

"No, you have been going through so much in the past year that this wouldn't have been good for you," she said, pulling back and drying her tears away.

"I'm sorry this is happening. Both of us need a break from this hell on Earth," I said.

"Yeah, I'm getting to the point where I'm about to throw it all away," she said with a sigh. "I mean, mom's pregnant again, and when she has it I'll have to take care of it because the court said she isn't eligible to take care of it in prison. She can't see see Sophia, which makes Sophia upset. Dad seems to care more about his new wife than Sophia, which also makes Sophia upset. Your mom won't answer her calls, neither will aunt Clarise."

"Yeah, mom's kind of pissed at me because of my boyfriend. Aiden and I are currently taking care if Ally and Nati. Mom kicked them out because Ally dropped out of college and Nati is pregnant. I'm afraid Aiden is getting into something bad again, because the amount he is making is insane for such a short time of working. I don't know what to do anymore," I groaned as we both started walking down the hall.

"I can help out if you need," Kat said.

"You already have enough on your plate, I can't ask you of any favors. But if there's anything you need me to do I can do it," I declined then offered.

"Well, I don't think there's anything you can do for me right now, and you can ask me. It's what family is for," she said as we walked outside.

We both leaned against the wall taking in the cold air. "All I can ask is that if I end up hospitalized again I want you to take care of Nati and the baby. Ally is pretty much in good shape, she has a job already and she's looking for an apartment now. Aiden on the other hand, make sure he doesn't get himself too deep into shit," I said, the thought of my three minutes being dead running through my mind.

"I don't think there's need to think like that, but of course I'll look after them," she said. There was a minute of peaceful silence before she decided to ask, "so tell me about this boyfriend of yours. How long have two been together, how did you guys meet, are you in love?"

I couldn't help but let a smile take over my face, "one hundred percent completely in love with him. I can't sleep without him anymore, and the way our relationship started off was quite funny. We met at his concert and our official relationship started at  the highschool reunion this year," I laughed a little and blushed when I realized I was just rambling about him. "Sorry."

"It's fine, it's quite cute actually. It's great to see you so happy after that asshole. But I do have a question, you said you two met at his concert," she questioned.

"Yeah, he's in band with his brothers called Palaye Royale," I answered. "Lilly dragged me to one of their concerts and that's where I met Rem. Then it turned out I was working on the set for their music video," I said.

"I think that's the band Sophia's been listening to lately," she said, looking at the ground thoughtfully.

Guys, I know I've said this a hundred times, but I'm serious this time. The books almost finished! It's almost time for you to hate me! I have like two or three chapters left!
