"Sandy? What are you doing here?" Soda got up and walked over to her. He looked down at her stomach and then back at her confused.

"It was a false alarm. I wasn't pregnant Soda. My mom just wanted me to stay gone for a while until the rumors blew over." She gently touched his arm and I saw a spark ignite in his eye. It was like I wasn't even there. Finally I stood up.

"Hi I'm Hendrix. Soda's girlfriend." I said as intimidatingly as I could. She acted surprised and then looked at Soda.

"Girlfriend?" She questioned.

"Sandy you cheated on me and then left town because you thought you were pregnant. Of course I started seeing someone else." His tone was bitter and he was acting like someone completely different.

"I need to talk to you Soda. Please." She was genuine and I understood they had a past. But I wanted Soda to say No Way! I'm with Henna now! But I knew that wasn't going to happen. And it didn't.

"Yeah of course." He mumbled to her and looked over at me. I shook my head slightly disappointed and upset with the whole situation.

"Bye." Was all I said and before he could try and make things better I was gone. I stormed out and started walking home. I was honestly too angry to cry and too sad to be angry. It was the most confusing feeling I'd ever experienced. I didn't want to lose Soda. I loved Sodapop Curtis and I knew I was destined to be with him.

I gasped slightly when I felt someone grab my right arm and pull me into an alley. "Long time no see bitch." It was the soc I had beat up 30 minutes ago. He had one hand around my throat and one clutching a knife to my gut.

"Get bent, pig." I spat out even though it was hard. I could barely breath nevertheless speak.

"If you weren't so damn pretty I could gut you right now." He said gently rubbing the knife on the bare part of my stomach. "But I think we should do something else first." He said switching the knife to my neck and letting his free hand travel up and down my body. He stopped at my curves and grabbed me. Finally I was getting scared. I tried to move his hand away from me and he pressed the knife tighter. He moved his hand to the zipper of my pants and finally I realized I was going to take a chance.

I kneed him quickly and tried to push him away and run but this time he grabbed my leg and I fell hard. He punched me three times hard in the face just as I had hit him earlier. He then added a punch to the gut to make sure I had no air left to try and fight him. I felt him tug at my pants and I started kicking. I was a fighter and I wasn't going down without one. He hit me again and again until I couldn't kick. Then he hit me once more and this time, I blacked out.

I tried to open my eyes but only my right eye opened barely. Everything was fuzzy and I saw Sodapop and Darry talking. Soda was crying. Then I saw Ponyboy and Johnny and Dally sitting on the ground. They looked scared. Even Dally.

I tried the best I could to wait until I had enough energy to speak. I knew my opening line had to be good considering all of these guys think I'm probably in the worst shape of my life. Which I am.

"Maybe if I had done that last pull up he'd be the one laying here." I said and all of the boys looked at me immediately. Darry half grinned at my comment and Soda just ran to me.

"Baby I am so sorry. I'm so fucking sorry I can't believe I let this happen to you-"

"Soda." I interrupted. "Hush. I'm okay. You couldn't have known. It's okay." I tried to my hand on his face but I couldn't. He held my hand and I smiled at him.

"So how jacked up is my face?" I asked.

"Well you're still definitely hotter than Two-bit and Steve but you may have let me and Sodapop pass you." Dally replied.

I gasped dramatically in the most sarcastic way I could. It was good to make jokes in times like this. But now I needed the facts.

"Who found me?" I asked.

Dally raised his hand and didn't say a word.
I feared the next question mostly because I was afraid I already knew the answer.

"Did he.." I tried to ask but somehow couldn't say the words. My stomach was turning upside down over and over and I could feel my heart racing.

"No." Dally replied saving me from having to ask. Soda and the other boys looked over shocked and confused. Dally must not have told them what he saw when he found me. "He was about to. But I got to him before he could." Sodas face dropped at the thought along with the other boys. I saw a tear slip Pony's eye and then another and then another.

"Ponyboy come here." I commanded. He walked over and sat next to me on the couch. "I'm okay." I reassured him. His tears kept falling and I wrapped my arms around him. Ponyboy and I had become best friends. Unexpected best friends. We were very different but both really enjoyed the others company. "I promise Ponyboy."

He laid down next to and I put my arms around him. After a little while, we both fell asleep. All of us fell asleep in the living room and I didn't mind the company. At about three in the morning, I heard footsteps. I'm a light sleeper so it didn't take much to wake me up.

"Thank you." I whispered. I could tell by how he walked who it was.

"What?" Dallas replied. I opened my eyes, as well as I could, and looked at him.

"Thank you for saving me Dallas Winston." He smirked a little and then winked at me.

"I'm never gonna let anyone hurt you baby girl." He replied. He leaned over and kissed me on the head. And I watched him leave, and for some reason, I really hated watching that door shut.
