"You have to tell them." I commanded. He glanced at me and his eyes were a mix of frustration and confusion.

"They wouldn't believe it man. You know how confusing that is. For all they know their mom and dad were together their whole life." He shook his head and looked at the ground.

"Ponyboy will be the most understanding." I tried to convince him to tell him but each time he shook the idea away.

"I can't."

"Dally, that's your family."

"They were my family before I told you this too. It doesn't change anything man. We're all family this one is just more fucked up than they know."

I was silent for a little while. We both were. Then finally something hit me.

"You have a sister?" I asked suddenly.

He chuckled. "Yeah. She's about 5'3 and has more personality than anyone I've ever met." He smiled a nostalgic smile.

"Where is she?"

"I don't know. When I got out of jail she was gone. My old man said she took off one day in the middle of the night." He looked at the ground again and this time lit a cigarette.

"Did she ever mention somewhere she wanted to go?" I asked.

"Yeah actually she did. She kept saying she wanted to find her meaning. Find out who she was and she said there's only one place that understands her." He shook his head at himself. "I never asked where that place was..." He continued.

"I'm sorry," I started. I couldn't imagine what he was going through. "What's her name?"

"Austin," he answered.

"Dallas and Austin?" I giggled.

"My mom named her other kids Sodapop and Ponyboy of course she decided to name us after her favorite cities." He both giggled and then I thought of something.

"Wait!" I said a little louder than I ended. "Dally! The one place that understands her! It's Austin! Austin, Texas!" He thought for a second.

"Oh my gosh. She told me once she always wanted to go to Texas to find out why mom loved it so much!" He smiled a very genuine smile. One that looked rare on Dally's face.

"Let's go!"

"What?" He asked.

"Let's go find her!" I exclaimed. "Look, I've got a car and my bags are already packed. Let's go get your sister!" I was exciting and being slightly selfish. I wanted to leave for a while. Just to be away from Sodapop.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Hell yeah!" I responded. He grinned at me and I smiled back.

"Come on!" I got up and we ran to Bucks and my place to grab our stuff.

There's no telling how long we'd be gone. We were stuffing our suitcases in the back of my car at the DX. Suddenly my heart sank slightly. Dally must have seen because he stopped.

"You okay?"

"We can't just leave without telling them." I mumbled. The boys would worry and even though Sodapop and I weren't in the best place, I didn't want to hurt any of them.

"You're right. Come on, we'll stop by the Curtis place on the way." He gently put his hand on my shoulder and I something turned in my stomach. I ignored it.

We arrived shortly and I took a drop breath and walked in. All of the boys were there, and to my delight, so was Sandy.

"Look I'm gonna make this real short and sweet okay. I'm leaving but not for long. Dally and I are going to Austin for a little while to find someone." All if their faces were different. Finally Johnny said something.

"I thought I stopped you from leaving."

"You did. Before you found me Johnny I was gonna leave and not come back and not say bye or anything. I'll be back, just don't know when." I responded.

"Hendrix, are you sure about this?" Darrel asked.

"Yeah, this could be dangerous." Ponyboy agreed.

"I've got Dally. He's always been there when I needed him before."

"I'll watch out for her." Dally said.

"Here," Two-bit said getting up. "Take my blade. It's a good one. Keep it on ya." He gave me a hug and hit Dally on the shoulder slightly.

"Be careful you two." Steve said.

"We will be," I hadn't made eye contact with Sodapop the whole time. He was also the only boy to not say anything to me.

"We'll see y'all soon."

"Wait." I heard a voice say as we turned around. I almost passed out when I realized whose voice it was. I turned back and looked. "Can I talk to you for a second Hendrix." Sandy asked. I glanced at Dal and he just nodded.

"Sure," I said slightly ruder than I intended.

We walked back into Soda and Ponyboys room.

-Dallys POV-

"Fuck," Steve laughed.

"I have 20 bucks on Henna." I said smirking and Soda looked back at me like he was gonna hit me. I just grinned sarcastically.

"What the bell could they be talking about?" Two-bit commented.

"Not sure if I want to know, man." Sodapop said looking down at the ground.

-Hendrix's POV-

I raised my eyebrows and looked at Sandy and waited for her to talk. She gently shut the door and then turned toward me.

"I owe you an apology," she started softly. I didn't respond. Just waited for her to continue. "Look, I did something beyond stupid and I hurt the boy I loved. I wish I could say I would go back and change things, but I wouldn't."

"You wouldn't stop yourself from cheating on Sodapop and completely obliterating his heart?" I asked rhetorically and annoyed.

"No," she said. This time I rolled my eyes and tried to leave. "He wouldn't have had you."

"What?"

"You stayed here because Sodapop wanted you too. Because he flirt with you and wanted you to stay." She was being genuine. My guard dropped and I thought for s moment about what she was saying. "Do you believe in God, Henna?"

"Christian," I responded.

"Me too. I think God has a plan for everyone, I needed to leave. So he could have you. He needed you in his life." For the first time ever I realized that she was just a girl. She wasn't mean and wasn't spoiled. She was pretty and kind hearted. And I trusted her as much as I didn't want to.

"Do you love him?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Would you ever hurt him again?"

"No."

"I believe you," I said and she smiled softly.

"Are you really going to come back?" She asked. "Because I don't think they'll be okay without you and Dal."

"I'll be back." She nodded and smiled and then all the sudden through her arms around me.

"You're a good person. Thank you," she said. I hugged her back still confused on how the hell this was happening. I want to hate her. I should hate her. She's with Soda and I love him. But I don't.
