Orochimaru's death

it had been a bit since the deaths of Hidan and Kakuzu and I stood in front of Pein. He looked at me and Kohna looked kinda concerned.

"you have a mission. Go observe what Orochimaru is doing." He said.

"Yes, leader," I said with a boy before leaving.

"She seems so different. It seems Kakuzu's death had more of an effect on her than we first realised." Khona said.

"If I'm correct those two were in a relationship," Pein said.

"She's dealt with a lot of death recently. she sees us all as, family. it seems now is when it taking obvious effect on her. The worst thing is she's not showing it. It can't be healthy to bottle it all up." Khona said with a sigh.

Pein didn't say anything. He would never admit it out loud however her was also worried about her, She was like a little sister to her.

It was a few days trip. I sat in a tree observing the hideout. I played with the locket around my neck. Nyuko slithered to my ear. He was beyond concerned about me. I lightly stroked his head trying to calm him.

My eyes suddenly shot to the hideout watching Sasuke walking out of the hideout. I watched him leave and I jumped down.

"something feels off," I mumbled.

"I feel it too. Orochimaru nor Kabuto would let Sasuke leave alone." Nyuko said.

"let's take a look," I said.

I walked in and the air felt stale. I allowed my hand to lay on the hilt of one of my katanas. I walked through and I soon stopped upon a scene I would never see. Orochimaru was dead. I heard footsteps behind me and I quickly turned around drawing my katana and holding it to someone's throat.

It was Kabuto. He was tense. His eyes soon found the scene I stumbled upon. He looked at me in an accusing manner. I rolled my eyes.

"don't jump to conclusions idiot. I found him like this after Sasuke left the base. I was sent to observe you guys." I explained.

I watched as he processed the information. Once I knew he calmed down I sheathed my Katana. I went to leave but stopped turning to see Kabuto.

"what will you do now. Your master is dead all you have ever been, is a puppet used by others. Will you finally be your own person with your own destiny, desires, dream?" I questioned.

I didn't wait for a reply as I left. Pein would want to know about this development. I had to return to inform him. But I stopped in my tracks. I looked at my hands and smiled.

"what are you thinking?" Nyuko asked.

"Let's take a detour shall we," I said with a smirk.

Nyuko watched her slightly shocked. He didn't expect this. She always put her duties to the Akatsuki first, but here she was doing something she wanted to do. Maybe Kakuzu's death changed her for the better.

"what do you plan on doing?" He asked.

"let's go follow Sasuke. I'm curious about what his plans are after betraying and killing Orochimaru." She said.

Nyuko hissed in delight. He liked that she was taking control of her life.
