September 10th

Taylor

Violet is two months old now and I'm not going to lie, it's been hard. Between the late nights and the constant tour rehearsals and just trying to set a routine that is just going to be broken all too soon, I'm completely exhausted. That's not even taking into account the ridiculous fact that my management decided that yet another PR relationship will get the world to start talking about that instead of Violet. I agreed to the movie appearance months ago, but I never agreed to this, especially since I didn't have a baby when I agreed to doing the movie.

Taylor's a good guy, he's sweet, don't get me wrong, but I'm just not interested in him in that way. "I still don't understand why you don't just let him pick you up." We just got out of rehearsals for tour, and now I want nothing more than to go home and sleep, but instead I have to go on this stupid date. Kaitlin kindly offered to watch Violet for me and is even dropping me off at the restaurant. "Because that means he'd have to come to the apartment and Violet would be there. I don't want people walking into her life who are just going to walk back out in a couple of months. I'm not doing that to her." I look back at the sleeping baby with a soft smile.

She's such a good baby, I'm lucky that way. She's already sleeping through the night most of the time which makes things easier on me, and she's very easily occupied during tour rehearsals which makes it easier to get through what we need to get through, and usually when the dancers or tech crew are working on something, I get to spend some time with her. I honestly don't know how many times I've had to sing with her attached to my boob at this point, but we're making it work which is what matters, and there's always someone willing to comfort her and hold her until I can get to her.

"Have your parents been in contact?" She glances over to me and I sigh as I shake my head. "They thought that making me move out would make me give her up, and when that plan didn't work they weren't happy. They haven't even called to find out how she's doing, I mean she's their granddaughter for gods sake." I sigh and Kaitlin gives me a sad smile. "They still care about you, Taylor, they're just disappointed. They'll come around, I promise." I nod, I'm sick of hearing those words at this point. They need to open their eyes and realise that I'm trying my best to be an adult and do what's right.

"I'll be home before eleven, but you're welcome to stay the night as long as you don't mind sharing my bed because I don't have a guest room or another bed." I laugh as Kaitlin pulls into the car park and she nods, "We'll probably be asleep by the time you get back." I nod too, taking off my belt and sighing. I get out of the car and walk around to Violet's door, opening it and spotting my sleeping baby bundled under her warm blanket. "Be good for Auntie Kaitlin and mommy will be home as soon as she can." I coo at the baby as I kiss her cheeks and she stirs a little. "Mommy loves you, pretty girl." I stroke her soft cheek before pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Taylor?" I'm startled by a voice behind me and look around to see Taylor behind me. "Hey, sorry. Gimme a minute." I smile kindly at him and he nods.

"Okay, bug. I gotta go. Kaitlin, I'm going to try and be back before her next feed but there's pumped milk in the freezer if she's hungry before that, and don't let her fall asleep before burping because then she'll be up all night." The woman smiles and nods, "I know, Tay. This isn't my first rodeo, now go." I sigh and kiss Violet again before closing her door. Kaitlin pulls away and I turn back to Taylor. "Sorry about that, I don't like leaving her." He shakes his head and offers his hand for me to take. "Don't worry about it, I think it's admirable what you're doing. With your career and lifestyle, being a mom must double the stress." I laugh as I nod and we slowly walk to the front of the restaurant where we both know there are going to be a bunch of cameras waiting. "But she's worth it. I wouldn't change my decision for the world." I keep my response brief because as we round the corner, the camera flashes start. Taylor walks in front of me, keeping a tight grip on my hand as he leads me through the crowd, eventually wrapping an arm around my waist to pull me closer.
