The first leg of the tour is over, and the last two months have been so exhausting and exhilarating. Violet makes new developments everyday and I'm so thankful to have my mom with me every step of the way. She's been so helpful with Violet, helping me as much as she can, and she totally dotes on the baby. Everyone has done their very best to help out and Vi is so lucky to have all of them, we're one big unconventional family.

Now, we're back home in Nashville for the next two months. Officially, Taylor and I broke up. The pressure of the extensive tour schedule becoming too much for us both, but in reality he's still one of my closest friends. He still dotes on Violet and checks up on us regularly, it's sweet and I'm so thankful for him. Another huge positive is that I've started recording for my next album. I've been getting a lot of bad press lately, and people have been challenging my abilities as a songwriter, so being as stubborn as I am, I made the move to write the next album all on my own.

I'm excited about the coming months, getting to spend more time with my baby and spending some time with the people I love before eventually getting back on the road.

"Good morning, sunshine." I laugh as I notice Violet starting to wake up in her travel crib. She's still in my room because at this point we haven't had time to start her nursery, which is something I plan to do within the next few weeks. I walk over and grin at the sleepy baby as she stares up at me. "You wanna come and cuddle with mommy?" I coo at my daughter, smiling brightly as I look into her tired blue eyes. "Come on then." I reach down and pluck her out of the travel crib, holding her on my hip as I go back to bed.

I put the TV on opposite the bed and settle on an episode of Law and Order, deciding that today is going to be spent snuggled up in bed with my baby. The apartment used to feel lonely with just me and Violet, it was too big for just us two, but now it feels like home.

The baby grips my shirt in her chubby little fist and I chuckle as she starts wiggling around. "Are you hungry, bug?" I coo as I sit up, stacking my pillows and sitting back against them, and then grabbing the breastfeeding pillow to help support the baby. I help her latch on and then get comfortable as she starts to eat, focusing on the TV as I rub her back gently.

"You're such a pretty girl, Violet." I coo at her as she stares up at me, her blue eyes mirroring mine. "You're so precious." I laugh as her little balled up fist clings to my shirt. I focus most of good attention on the TV until I realise that the baby's finished and then I move her away from my boob and sit her up to be burped, patting her back repeatedly. "Shit," I hiss as the baby projectile vomits all over herself and the bed. "Thanks, Vi." I sigh as I peel the covers back and get out of the bed, carrying the sick covered baby to the changing station in the bathroom. I get her out of her sleeper and hold her on my hip as I run a small bath. I take her back out to the room and sit her down in the travel crib in only her diaper as I pull the dirty sheets from the bed and tie my hair up, and I grab a clean sleeper for the baby before scooping her back up and going back to the waiting bath.

The baby bath is in the middle of the tub filled with warm water, so I take the baby's diaper off and plop her down in the tub, lying her down on the support and covering her front with a warm wet washcloth so that she doesn't get cold. I laugh as she kicks her legs around in the water, splashing around like she always does. "Where's the ducky?" I coo as she reaches out and flails her little hands around to try and reach for the toy, "look, honey." I move it around in the water and she giggles as she watches me, her laugh making my heart burst with happiness.

I figure that she's been in here long enough and start to wash her little body with the washcloth, doing my best not to startle her when the stream of water covers her to wash off the soap suds. "Come on then, little miss." I grab her fluffy towel and lay it out before lifting her out and wrapping her up tight. "Shall we dress you and then you can play in your travel crib until mommy remakes her bed?" I coo at her as I lay her down on the changing table, smiling brightly as I dry her off and she mimics my smile. I continue talking away to her like I do every day, and I reach down under to the shelf for a diaper and curse silently to myself as I realise there's only one left. This day couldn't get any worse. I grab it and quickly change Violet, putting her into the clean sleeper, and then I walk out into the bedroom.
