April 20th
Karlie
Taylor and I took a few days to ourselves to figure things out and so that I could heal a little more from the car accident before we bad to deal with anything else.
"Good morning, Violet bug," I walk into the baby's nursery, finding her standing up in her crib. "You're such a smart girl," I pick her up, much to Taylor's disapproval, but what she doesn't know can't hurt her. "You wanna come with me to get breakfast, monkey?" Taylor's still sleeping and I know she won't be happy about me not taking it easy, but I need to get out of this apartment for a little bit.
I change her diaper quickly as she giggles at me, she's so smiley and it melts my heart. "You can just wear your sleepsuit, we'll dress you after breakfast," I hold her on my hip as we head downstairs. I'm dressed in sweats and a hoodie, so I simply grab one of Violet's Sweaters and a blanket since it's the middle of spring so it's pretty warm out.
"Where did Grammy put your stroller?" I talk to Vi as I search for the thing, eventually finding it in the hallway closet. "Here we go," I wince as I bend over to strap her in, I'm still in pain but it's not so bad anymore. We leave a note for Taylor, letting her know where we went just in case she wakes up before we get back, and then I leave the apartment with Violet.
We slip out the back to avoid any cameras that might be lurking around, and Violet is happy and smiling as I push her down the street. This little lady is filled with so much love, and she smiles at everyone we pass on the street, whilst for some reason people keep looking at me weird. I shrug and keep walking down the street with the baby, putting it down to my lack of make up or something silly.
There's a cute little cafe near her apartment that Taylor loves, so that's where we stop off. She's been taking care of me for days now, so it's about time I do something nice for her. "Hey, can I get two vanilla lattes, two poppyseed bagels with cream cheese and one of your gluten free omelettes," the woman serving me writes down the order as I push Violet's stroller back and forth to keep her calm, she hates when her stroller stops moving.
"Oh, what is it, bugsy?" I coo as Vi starts getting fussy, "do you want your lovey?" I reach under the stroller, wincing in pain as I grab the toy, "mommy really didn't leave that in the right place, did she?" I sigh, smiling as I hand it to Violet. "Miss?" I hear a voice behind me as I straighten up and I turn to see who it is, "I don't mean to overstep, but I just wanna ask if you're safe?" I frown as I try to figure out what she's talking about, but then I remember what my face looks like at this current moment in time.
"I was in a car accident a few days ago which is why I look like this." I laugh to myself as I finally understand why people were looking at me weird on the way here. "Thank you for your concern, but I promise that we're totally safe and happy," Violet is staring up at me and I smile at her, I couldn't imagine ever being in a relationship like that with Taylor, she has too big a heart to hurt a fly.
I share another few words with the woman until my order is up and then I thank her once more before leaving the cafe and heading back to Taylor's apartment.
Taylor
"Where did you two go?" As the front door closes, I venture out into the hallway with a worried frown, Karlie is meant to be taking it easy but I swear she's so bloody stubborn. "We went to pick up breakfast, didn't we, bug?" She hands me the bag and the tray of coffees before bending to take Vi out of her stroller, clearly in pain as she does so.
"What happened to resting and taking it easy?" I sigh as we walk through to the kitchen and Karlie laughs, "babe, I love you, but I'm going to get cabin fever. I was in an accident and I have minor injuries, I wasn't thrown off a cliff or something."
