{Y/N POV}

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The search for Maddie is on hold due to some... complications. Its been a few weeks searching everywhere, and nothing.

"Ms. Battalion will you please raise your head?" I lift my head to see Mrs. Thomas. I nod and stretch. During this search, I've had many all nighters. I'm exhausted at this point, but I can't give up. I feel so close. I look over to see Larry doodling on his notebook. It seems to be of him and the gang.

"Hey, how come I'm not in it?" He chuckles quietly.

"I'm not finished yet, sweetheart. And don't worry, I'll make sure to make you seem taller." I lightly punch him on the arm, quietly laughing. The bell rings, students gathering their things.

{time skip!}

"Its hopeless!" I put my head on the table. The gang and I are at lunch now, enjoying the noisy students around us... not. My head is throbbing.

"Its not. And you need to take it easy. For God's sake, look at you!" I look at Sal with sad eyes. "I mean, I'm worried about you. We all are." Everyone nods. I groan. Larry pats my head.

"C'mon Y/N. Get some proper rest." I look at Ash and tiredly smile. I let out a yawn. I lay my head on Larry's shoulder.

"How about I walk you home after school? Just so you aren't sleepwalking home." We all chuckle.

"That would be nice. Thanks Ash."

{another time skip!}

Ash and I are walking home, talking. A headache comes, making me suck in air through my teeth. Ash places a hand over my forehead.

"Wow, you're hotter than normal. Physically and mentally." We both laugh. "But seriously, let's check this out."

We enter my house and I head over to the downstairs bathroom. I grab the thermometer and stick it in my ear. It beeps and I take it out. It reads 102 degrees.

"Huh, I guess I am hotter than normal." I hand it to Ash. She gasps.

"Y/N! This is bad! You have to go lie down, like, right now!!" She scoops me up bridal style and carries me to my bed.

"Hey! Larry and Sal are only allowed to do that!" I pout.

"Well, you have a fever, so I have an excuse." I roll my eyes as she sets me on my bed, covering me in my blankets.

"Do you want me to call the boys?" I shake my head no.

"Nah. I can't have too many people in my house right now." She nods. Suddenly, I hear the front door open.

"Hi Y/N! It's Aunt Carol!" I sigh.

"I'll let her know." I thank Ash as she heads downstairs. A few seconds later, my door opens.

"Oh honey, are you okay?" I shrug, sneezing.

"I'll grab the tissues. Ash, thank you darling. I'll take care of it from here." She nods and waves goodbye.

"I'm gonna let the boys know!" She says running downstairs.

"Okay!" I yell back, soon erupting in coughs.

"Alright hun, relax. Let's not have you go to school tomorrow okay?" I nod my head after calming down. She kisses my forehead, walking over to my door. "Get some rest." She closes the door. I extend my arm over to my desk drawer and open it. I grab my journal.

Dear Diary 1998

Great. I'm sick. 102 fever I should say. Best not to be near anyone for now, especially Larry. Aw man... I'm gonna miss his cuddles and kisses. You can't see it, but I'm pouting. I love that dude so much. Anyway, Aunt Carol said to take it easy for today and not attend school tomorrow. I'm not complaining, but hopefully I can get the work for that day. I'm gonna go to sleep 'e sleep now, goodnight journal.

Signing off!

I close the journal and put it away. I remove my mask and sleep.

Hiya! My writers block is gone for now! Did you miss me? About the thermometer... I have an ear one at home from when I was little, so sorry if it was a bit confusing to some. Anyway, I'll probably write the next chapter on Saturday or Sunday. Also, I would love to know if you guys want me to host a mini Q + A. Please let me know!
