Walking into the Alpha house with my father behind me. The women and children were huddled in the dining room when we arrived. My mother standing her ground with my aunts ready to protect the pack.
"May I introduce The former Alpha or the Mountain moon pack. She has given up her position to help us" My father said as we walked in. "My baby girl," my mom said as she ran over to me. "It's just me and the boys, River and his friends came too," I said as my mother tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear. "Is Dalton back?" His mother asked, hopeful.
"He didn't return with us. He is the Alpha of the Mountain Moon pack, his mate as his Luna" I said making his mother start crying. He has a mate, she's happy. I pulled out my phone and dialed my old office number before handing it to Mrs. James. She thanked me before leaving the room. The pack all left the room and we headed outside. I went to the car to wake the boys up. "What of that mate?" My father asked. "I'm not concerned with him at the moment, we both have different priorities," I said before we went to wake the boys up. My dad carried the still sleeping Tom up to his room as the half awake fully grown wolves found their ways to beds.
Mrs. James gave the phone to my father saying It was urgent. I waited in the living room until the conversation was over. My father hung up after saying we would deal with it when it got here?!
"What was that about?" I asked as he handed me my phone. "Nothing to worry about at the moment, I just want to enjoy the family being together right now. You should get to bed" he told me caning the subject before heading to his office.
~~~~~~~~~~"Bailey!" I heard my Cousin yell as my door was slammed open. "It's time to get training girl! But first is a family breakfast" she said as she ripped off my blankets. She went silent when she saw the scars that covered my body. Scars from the attacks, the fight with alpha and training with my Beta and Gamma.
"What happened to you?" She asked me as I got out of bed and put on more clothes. "I killed an alpha, and people didn't like there being a Female alpha," I said making her mad. She went downstairs without another word, so I followed her.
I walked into the kitchen and it was just my mom, brother, and Ava. "Where is dad?" I asked making my mom look up at me. "He had things to handle, he should be here soon," she said, she was hiding something. I grabbed a waffle and went to sit at the table. Ava was staring at me, she will get over it.
"We should get going. Love you mom" Cullen said when breakfast was over. We took off towards the training grounds.
~~~~~~~~~~
We have been home for over a week and nothing has happened, not a sign of any packs.
"Where is dad?" I asked Cullen as I walked into the living room. "No clue, he's just been disappearing lately," Cullen told me as he looked away from the video game him and all the guys were playing. "I guess there has been something at the border" My uncle Steve said, interesting.
I ran upstairs and threw on an outfit. I put on a pair of leggings, boots and an oversized hoodie before I packed a bag of snacks and headed towards the border. Probably a stupid idea but I was bored.
Soon I found my dad. He was sitting on a log a few feet from the border in silence. "What are you doing?" I asked making my dad jolt up, "You are not supposed to be here" he told me as I set down the bag. "Why?" I asked and he just shook his head. "I'm just keeping someone out of the territory, it's too dangerous for you to be here," he said but I wasn't convinced "I don't want you to be out here alone," I said as he shook his head.
"Bailey I'm an Alpha I'm fine," my father said Trying to make me leave. "I was an Alpha, and I killed an Alpha," I said but he still shook his head. "It's too cold, and you should be training or something," he said as he started walking me in the direction of the house. "Dad! Seriously, what are you doing out here?" I asked. He covered my mouth and pulled me behind a tree as he heard something. "Stay here" he whispered as he made me stay in the rotting old tree.
He left me and walked towards the border. "And here I thought you left me" I heard my mate say. Mason?! Artemis was freaking out. I peeked through a hole in the tree and saw my dad sitting back on the log and Mason sitting wrapped in a blanket right at the border. He had a squirrel and a rabbit laid out next to him. He was just wearing a pair of basketball shorts. He looked like a mess, he must have been here for a while.
"How is she?" Mason asked as he started a small fire to cook his prey. My father just shook his head as he looked in the bag of snacks I dropped off. He took out two bags of chips and threw one to Mason. "Thanks," my mate said as he looked at my father questionably. "I'm still not going to Answer any of your question about her," my father told him and Mason just nodded.
"How's the pack?" Mason asked and my dad just nodded. "Fine," My father said as he opened his bag of chips. "I should be doing pack work, so Bailey's grandfather is going to watch you for a while. He should be here soon, he's always a real delight". Soon enough Grandpa Arthur was here. He sat next to my father without a word.
My father got up and started walking towards my tree. When he was out of sight he picked me up and we walked back to the pack house.
"What the hell Dad!" I yelled as we walked into the house. "He wants to see you, but I'm not going to let him hurt my little girl more than he already has" he yelled before he walked off.
He's just trying to protect me. Like always.
