Life quickly became a lot busier.

Instead of just Moonfishy and a handful of others, Min has been sending out three or four people at a time to find new recruits. On top of that, there was the matter of food weapons. Learning to use them, keeping them at top notch quality in the middle of an apocalyptic wasteland, and making enough food for the members and the weapons...

At least there was Bob with 700 trillion dollars to fund Cat Cult. Where even is Bob? And more importantly, how did Min even get the incredibly lazy man to agree to Cat Cult using his money?

"Min, I would suggest making a mango launcher." Khadija entered the kitchen, heading directly to the Cat Cult leader. "About a third of Sunny's army are robots, and the mango juice could easily make them short circuit. Plus, mangoes are an easy distraction, since they create a huge mess when thrown."

Official Sushi Dictionary perked up at that, closing the oven more vigorously than he should have. Mina jumped in shock.

"Sorry," he said. "I just really like making things with mangoes."

"Me too!" Mina responded immediately with a huge grin. Mina was another one of Cat Cult's cooks, and she had slightly tanned skin with curly hair tied back in a ponytail. She was always very energetic and found the bright side in everything. "Do you think Min will actually let us make a mango launcher?"

"Hopefully." he shrugged. Just then, a small buzz came from the clock on the kitchen wall. "Oh, I need to go find more recruits now. Bye!"

"Well, okay." said Mina, looking slightly disappointed. Official Sushi Dictionary didn't have the chance to question why, since Sophie had already arrived at the kitchen with the others on their 'patrol' thing. Mina and Sophie locked eyes and grinned, like the pair of best friends always did.

Their patrol was larger than most of the others, with five people: Sophie, Official Sushi Dictionary, Cynthia, Katherina, and Joseph. Sophie was the leader of the patrol, having been in Cat Cult the longest. She was similar to Mina with her positivity, but she was more cautious and quiet. Katherina and Cynthia were both shy and quiet.

As the group silently headed through the Cat Cult camp, they passed by Jack and Sally. Surprisingly, Jack wasn't protesting against pumpkin cruelty with Lily like he normally was. The pair was having a quiet conversation, both smiling with slightly embarrassed expressions. Sophie snickered, a twinkle in her eye.

"By the way, guys," Sophie spoke up, smoothing her long ginger hair. "We won't need to find anyone today since Hussain already tracked down a group of three."

"How?" Katherina asked quietly, curiosity clear in her gaze.

"One of them has a GPS attached to them. Weird, I know." Sophie frowned.

After grabbing a satchel with badges (and extra, just in case), they went through the portal, one by one. Joseph had finally gotten used to all the strange and magical parts of Cat Cult, and surprisingly, he proved to be a valuable asset to their group. Sure, everyone in Cat Cult had a special role that no one else could fulfill, but Joseph was a quick thinker and a diligent worker, traits that Cat Cult needed more of. He might be the only sensible person in their cult, in fact.

Official Sushi Dictionary's bright mood plummeted as soon as they exited the camp, met with the view of nothing but a grey and barren land. It was almost December, and it was still warm enough to go outside without a jacket. The trees seemed blackened and dead, drooping towards the ground. They kept as far from open ground as possible, and tried to keep close to what was left of the forest. Only a small ring of pine trees and the Cat Cult cave stayed exactly the same as before. He did his best to think happy thoughts during their trek, but everything only seemed to darken the farther they got from Cat Cult.
