Our 'vacation' was going great. For Jillian and I. The boys were in the recording studio 14 hours a day, everyday. It was about time they had a day off. We were in the recording studio with them a lot of the time, but when we weren't, Jillian and I would go to find the closest beach or private lake.

It was early July and we got them to take a Friday off. We let them sleep in that day. They hadn't slept in since before we left Nevada. They slept until 10 that day. We decided to go to the private lake. We invited Laura to come too. Her and Spencer were almost as serious as Brendon and Jillian.

The band got there at about 11:30. I was driving Ryan. I decided to take a little detour.

"Where are we going?" he asked as he watched the others' cars continue down the highway.

I took and exit to a little shopping complex. "Just you wait," I said as I pulled up in front of a barber shop.

"No you didn't."

"Yes. You are getting a hair cut."

"No I'm not."

"Uh, yes you are. Ryan look how long your hair is!" it was almost down to his chin and covering a lot of his face. "Come on, it'll be sexy when they're done with you."

He sat back in his seat for a few moments. He finally looked at me. "Fine."

I smiled and jumped out of the car. He took forever to get out. "Come on!" I took him by the hand and practically dragged him into the little shop.

I told the woman who was going to cut Ryan's hair how I wanted it to be. She was a tall and skinny, darker skinned woman. She seemed like she was in her early twenties. I had come here to get my hair cut once and she was awesome. Her name was Brianna.

"You can take a lot off. I think he should have side bangs that start over here and come across his forehead," Her and I were both pointing to where we wanted everything as Ryan sat in the chair, shaking his head. "And can you make the rest of his hair short, but not too short? Kind of like a rocker look maybe."

"Girl, I know exactly what you want. Trust me, he's gonna look like a whole new man, honey."

I smiled. I knew she'd do a good job. "Trust me, this will look great. I promise," I told Ryan.

He smiled. "I trust you."

"Gotta please the girlfriend, right?" Brianna told him after they came back from washing his hair.

"Yeah," Ryan agreed...

Wait, what did she just say? Girlfriend? But we weren't dating. Did Ryan hear her wrong? Did I hear her wrong? I sat in the chair next to him. He didn't look up at me or say anything else about it. I decided to take a picture of him just as she cut the first pieces. He gave me a face and Brianna and I both laughed. I watched his hair get shorter and shorter. My smile grew wider and wider. She started to blow dry his hair.

"His hair is so soft now, I can feel it," she smiled at me.

When she was done she heated up her straightener. She went over his bangs and and got some of his hair to stick out in all the right places. It was absolutely perfect. Brianna stepped back to take a look with me. We both smiled and nodded our heads. "Perfect," we concluded.

She turned Ryan around in the chair so he could get his first look. I saw his eyes widen. "Wow."

"Do you like it?" Brianna asked.

"A lot, actually."

"I love it, thank you so much," I turned and hugged her. "See Ryan now you look like you belong in a band."

"In a band? What band?"

"Panic! At The Disco," I said. "They're recording their first album right now."

"Isn't that something. I'll give it a listen when it comes out."

"Thanks, and I'll see you later." We paid and went out to the car.

"You were right. I love it," he told me as he looked at his reflection in the flip down mirror on his side.

"It looks great Ryan. So much better."

"Thanks for taking me. I probably wouldn't have gone if you hadn't dragged me here," he laughed.

"You're welcome."

We drove to the lake. When we got there I saw that the guys had tied a rope swing to the tree. Brendon and Jillian were fighting each other in the water and Spencer was coaxing Laura to get on the rope swing. Brent came up to the car.

"You were gone awhile. How'd it go?"

I didn't even have to answer. He took one look at Ryan and his eyes widened. "Wow. Ryan you lost some inches."

"I know. I'm getting used to it."

We took our clothes off, our swimsuits underneath. Ryan asked if I could put his clothes in the backseat for him. He threw them to me and I smelled something on them. I held them up to my nose and my face went sour. He had been smoking. I knew I'd have to talk to him about this later. I threw our clothes in the car and met Ryan by the rope swing.

Spencer was just letting go of the rope swing and collapsing into the water below when I reached the tree. Laura was standing at the bottom, deciding wether or not she should go. "Here you two go in front," she told us.

I saw Spencer look at her. She shrugged her shoulders and told him she'd go after us. Ryan climbed up first and I followed right behind him. The split in the tree was wide enough that it could fit both of us. Spencer threw him the rope. I saw Ryan hesitate for a little bit.

"What, are you afraid of rope swings?"

"No," he laughed. "I'm just waiting for the right time to go."

"Well that time better not be in three hours 'cause I want to go too."

"Well then I guess you're going with me."

I looked at him a little confused. Suddenly, he grabbed my waist real tight. "Ryan what are you-"

I quickly grabbed the rope. He barely gave me enough time. He jumped and I came with him. I let out a scream and hooked my legs around his waist. We flew out 25 feet and let go, still holding each other. We came up together. His hand was still on my waist. I looked over at him. He looked at me and pulled his hand off. "Sorry."

I smiled. "That was awesome."

It seemed our jump was catching on. When we got out of the water, Brendon took Jillian up to do the same thing. Spencer had come out with us and went over to Laura who was still beside the tree. He finally got her to jump with him.

We stayed until 5:00. The guys, Laura, and Jillian decided to go out to eat. Ryan asked if I wanted to just come back to his place for a bit. I wondered why he didn't want to go with the rest of them. I saw him talking to Brendon before we left.

Brendon put one hand on Ryan's shoulder and I heard him say "do it." My insides started to churn.
