It was Saturday when I woke up from my warm slumber. No classes today. That meant all day to prepare for dinner with Ryan. I looked over to the other bed across the room to see Amy still sleeping. My Sidekick was lit up on my night stand. The messages came from my two longtime friends, Jazmin and Jillian.

Jillian is one of my best friends. She is energetic, super outgoing, and a huge cusser. She's pretty much my total opposite. Although, we are both blonde, but she has browner undertones. We were in 10th grade at the time when we met. Her and Ryan are cousins on their moms' sides. I was over Ryan's house when they stopped over, and we hung out all day. She's been my best friend ever since.

Jazmin is fun-loving and sarcastic and just as loud and outgoing as Jillian but with less of a foul mouth. She is brunette and loves all the music I do. Her and I were introduced by Jillian. They were best friends longer than me and Ryan were friends, and she easily accepted me. It was us four all the way through high school, along with two of Ryan's friends: Spencer and Brent. It was great to know that Ryan and I were attending the same college. Jillian and Jazmin did not go to the same college as us, but they lived really close.

Jillian texted me saying that her and Jazmin drove home yesterday for the weekend. I told them to come to the campus.

Across the room, I heard Amy start to wake.

"Hey Aims?"

"What's up?"

"Jillian and Jazmin are stopping over soon. Probably around noon."

She lifted herself from her pillow and glanced at the clock. It was 10:30. "Oh awesome."

Amy is outgoing like Jazmin and Jillian, but she is shy around new people and things. I introduced Amy to the group a few weeks into college. She's just as fun-loving as the rest of us, so she quickly became a part of our circle.

I threw my covers off and headed over to the little pantry in our room, scoping it out for a mini cereal box. Amy took the high bun out of her blonde-brown hair and headed straight to the shower. I plopped back on my bed with my cinnamon toast crunch. My phone lit up again with another text. From Ryan.

'see ya tonight'

I found myself smiling at the thought of going tonight. My phone lit up again.

'thanks for paying ;)'

I giggled to myself.

When Jillian and Jazmin came we set off to walk on the walking trails around campus. We always did this. It helped us catch up.

"So you got anything planned for us while we're here?" Jillian asked.

I laughed a little. "Well this is all I've got for us today. I'm going to dinner later."

"Oooo with who?" Jazmin smiled suspiciously.

"She's going to one of this towns finer eats with a Mr. Ryan Ross," Amy cut in with a grin, waving her eyebrows at me.

"Seriously? I thought he'd never ask..." I heard Jillian mumble.

"What?" I didn't hear her too clearly.

"Wow I'd say it's about time! Alleluia," Jazmin raised her arms as if exhausted.

I was so confused. "Wait, why is this such a big deal? We always go places."

"Yes, but you guys don't go anywhere really worthy of dressing up. And I've been to that restaurant and it's pretty nice. Like, a dress is required. And it's expensive," Jazmin added.

Expensive? Then why was I paying? I was not mentioning that. They'd scold Ryan for saying that even as a joke. "I really have to wear a dress?"

"Absolutely. And why the hell not wear one? That's why he's taking you there. He WANTS to see you in a dress!" Jillian exclaimed.

I looked to both sides of me at their faces. All eyes were on me. They smiled like they all knew about this and I didn't.

"Did you guys all know about this?" I asked.

"Well we knew something like this was going to happen," Amy answered. "We just didn't know what or when."

I was a little shocked that they never told me he liked me. I guess my observations were correct this whole time. Why didn't they tell me though? We walked a few more steps before I finally asked.

"Why haven't you guys told me anything?"

"We thought you'd figure it out. I mean he makes it almost obvious. You HAD to have picked up on it Ms. Psychology," Jazmin sarcastically pointed out.

"Seriously, you would have to be a fucking moron not to see," Jillian backed up Jazmin.

"You did notice, right?" asked Amy. "Because even I noticed and I just met you guys this year."

"Of course I noticed. I just didn't know if it was true."

"Just don't make it obvious that you know or act like it's a date unless he acts like it's a date," Jillian told me. "I don't know how long it will take him to tell you. So be patient."

We were back at the dorm and they all wanted to help me for tonight. So we went through my closet and found a dress that I had not yet worn. It was black and strapless made all with a lace material. It had layers and a thin leopard belt to accentuate my waist. I wore it with a black beaded necklace, black earrings, and short black boots. What better way to show it off than tonight in front of Ryan?
