CHAPTER 6 THE SECRET UNVEILED
When I woke up my friends were gone, The baron, The battle master Alexander, and the woman in charge of the diplomatic service Eleanor. I whimpered and reached for my braid, and it wasn't there. I panicked and remembered I cut it and face palmed myself in my head. I laughed awkwardly but stared at them like they were about to kill me, but in my sake that could be highly true.
"Why did you have to keep this a secret?" Alexander said shaking his head, "There are other girls in the corpse." Eleanor said tilting her head. "But are there other Echo's?" I asked dropping my deep voice. "Are there other girls that spent years thinking about their parents wondering who they were?" my voice starting to rise in pitch. "Did they panic once the two wars with Morgarath started and think they were both dead?" My hands started shaking with rage. "Did they watch their best friend die at their feet and see a replay of that every single night?" Tears started rolling down my face and I was sitting up now, ignoring the sharp pains in my shoulder. "Did they have to keep themselves hidden for almost their whole life?" I froze in spot and stared behind them, staring at the person I knew for most of my childhood.
I felt my jaw drop and I stared forward, refusing to look away from the sharp pains from my shoulder. I pointed and the three turned around and tilted their heads.
"Talia!" I screamed. She ran forward and hugged me. The three's jaws dropped and they stared for some time. We cried tears of joy until the sharp pains in my shoulder took control, I pulled back and Talia looked like she was in pain.
I tilted my head at her and stared. She shook her head, hugged me once more and ran out. I stared at the spot she stood in and gasped. I looked at my arm but didn't have time. Everything went black.
When I was seven me and Talia would always play in the forest. That was all I thought about in my distress.
I ran through the bushes and trees like they were not even there. Swiftly and quietly I glided away from my friend who was silently counting to thirty. I ran until I tripped and giggled as I looked to see what was there. I screamed at the top of my lungs, to my horror I saw a wargal hiding in a bush, holding onto my leg with a sword in his other hand.
Talia jumped out from behind a bush and kicked him away from me. I cried and ran to a tree and climbed it. Talia grabbed the wargals sword and chucked it at a tree, then it broke into two like it was butter. She climbed up to me but then her leg was grabbed and she was hurled backwards into the tree opposite from us. I cried and jumped out after her, only to be greeted my two of the wargals friends. They barred their yellow fangs and I screamed and cried some more.
I ran towards Talia and hugged her, we both cried on each others shoulders in fear. The three wargals made a circle around us and once they started closing in, the baron came out on his battle horse. I closed my eyes and tried to ignore the piercing screams of the wargals.
Once the screaming was finished I opened my eyes and the baron helped me and Talia up and smiled at us. But just then another wargal burst out from behind me and Talia. He stabbed her in the back and was about to do the same to me when the baron stabbed the wargal in between the eyes.
I screamed once I saw Talia melt to her knees and fall. I sat in front of her and rocked back and forth hugging my knees and screaming with tears pouring out of my eyes. Talia made chocking and crying sounds while she died, I scrambled to her side and hugged her. I cried louder as she stopped moving. I thought I could still feel her breathing but wasn't sure.
