"Ali! Ali... Alison wake up. Its ok." I opened my eyes and saw Nathan hugging me with worry in his eyes.
"Nathan! Sam..shes...where is she. We need to help her." I started to get up off the sidewalk we were sitting on but Nathan pulled me back.
"Ali-" He started.
"No, we need to hurry and help Sam!" I yelled.
"Alison! Shes dead!" He yelled back.
"No..." I sat down and looked around. My vision got blurry as tears streamed down my face. I blinked slowly to stop the tears but all I saw was Sammy's body laying limp in the car, her neck cracked to the side and her forehead split open by glass.
"No!" I screamed.
"Ali, it's ok," Nathan hugged me. We sat like that for a long time. Me crying into Nathan's shoulder until Kayla and Vic came over.
"Is she ok?" Kayla asked.
"Come on lets leave. She needs to be away from here so she can calm down. I can drive you guys home." Vic said while holding Kayla's hand.
We all got in Vic's car; Kayla and Vic in front and Nathan and I in the back. I was starting to calm down, but I couldn't clear the picture from my mind. I felt Nathan start moving arms away from around me when I took a deep breath, but I was so scared of crashing that I couldn't even move.
"Wow. What a party." Nathan said sarcastically.
When I got home I locked myself in my room. I spent the rest of the night listening to music.
"Alison?" My mom called. She walked into my room after I unlocked it.
"Are you ok? I heard what happened." She said.
"Its all my fault. I invited her to the party." I said, burying my face into my pillow.
"No it's not sweetie. It's no ones fault, you couldn't have stopped that car crash." She said.
"Thanks mom...can I just be alone. Im kind of tired." I said.
"Okay sweetie. Tomorrow I wont wake you up, you've had a long day." She said, getting up. I slept for the rest of the night and woke to my phone alerting me.
"Huh.." I mumbled and sleepily reached for my phone. I saw it was a message from Kayla, Vic had asked her out and they were dating. I quickly typed in that I was happy for her then checked the time.
"Wow!" I said, hurrying out of bed. I slept for so long.
"Damn." I mumbled, I was already late for school so there was no point in going. Just as I said this I got another message:
'Hey. Hope your okay.' -Nathan
'I am, thanks.' -Ali
'Okay gtg.' -Nathan
'Bye' -Ali
I walked downstairs and ate some cereal. My mom already left for work, so I don't have to worry about noise. Hmm why don't I be productive and actually study.
I put my phone down and began studying. After a long hour of math, language, and history I started to get bored.
"Why does math have to be so boring?" I said to myself. I heard a loud clang from the kitchen.
"What the-" I mumbled as another noise was made. I grabbed my phone and my scissors, then went down the stairs fast.
"Shit" a figure said. He didn't see me yet.
I quietly walked behind him and put my scissors near his neck.
"Who are you, and what are you doing in my house." I said calmly.
"Whoa. Put the scissors down, or at least let me turn around." the man said.
He turned slowly but I didn't move my scissors.
"Alison? You've grown up so fast..." The man said.
"How do you know me? You don't look familiar." I said quietly.
"Of course you don't. I left before I saw you. But I've seen you in pictures from schools and tournaments." He said. What the hell was he talking about.
"What do you mean? I asked you who you were! Answer me!" I said, I was starting to get scared.
"Calm down Alison. I'm...I'm your father." He said.
"What? No your not. No! I'm calling the cops. Stay there! Your a intruder i don't know you." I said, my voice was reaching hysterics but I was scared. I grabbed my phone.
"Wait! Call your mom first. Please Alison." He said. I looked at him doubtfully, but the look in his eyes, the begging look in those familiar piercing blue eyes made me call mom.
"Mom! Come home now, it's an emergency," I said, keeping my eyes on the man.
"No I'm not hurt...Yes I know, this is even more important! MOM! A man is at our house, in front of me. An-and he claims to be my father..." I said. After a few minutes of me staring at the man and him awkwardly looking around, mom arrived.
"Sweetie!! Alison!? Where are you," She yelled running into the room. "Oh my god."
"Hi honey," the man's eyes lit up when he saw my mom.
"Dave?" She asked and walked to him. "I-I thought you were dead...Why didn't you call?!"
I sat there watched as my mom got fought between angry and happy to see my 'father'.
"Just...wait." My mom said holding up a hand and rubbing her forehead. "Alison go upstairs please."
"Ok." I said quietly and walked out if the room. I tried to walk as slowly as possible to hear what they were saying.
"The men, they almost found me. I was trying to keep you save!" Dave said.
"What?! Your daughter doesn't even know you! Don't you understand how much pain you put this family through?" My mom yelled.
"Aria!!" Dave yelled and took a deep breath. "If I called they would've tracked the call. They could've kill you."
There was silence for a second, then a quiet sob. I quietly walked the up stairs and into my room.
